Great take on a stupid law that makes everything in Hawaii way too expensive.

Thats a tough one, we already outsource so much of our supply chain to other countries, it just another way to get held hostage by other countries willing to do it cheaper.

I can remember dock workers strikes here where stevedores held the state hostage. Its the reason you see Toilet Paper panic anytime their is any emergency, we know first hand about having to wipe our ass with our hands. China will happily subsidize a massive ultra-cheap transportation fleet to gain a monopoly on delivery of the worlds goods and then decide who gets to eat and when.

True, but there is always compromise.  Just ban China ships.  Or have a quota.  X number of ships per country.
