Nice to see a high roller wander into town once in a while.
Here is what I know....
In 1911 guns, no matter how much you pay, it will still need some tweaking.
Unless you don't shoot it. Then it doesn't really matter.

Yeah, this is what my friends and I did back in the day.
Nowadays if you commission a well known builder to make a gun for you, expect to wait years.

If you actually want a good shooter, you can buy a fancy upgraded gun off the shelf at à reasonable price and hand it off to a reputable mechanic to fine tune the action. That process might only take a year or so.

Yes, true but in my case, it's a custom made for me with my input.  Yes, it took a while to start and complete.  Any custom shouldn't require much fine tuning especially not by the builder himself I'd he's truly qualified.  Mine didn't.  It's super accurate and runs perfectly.

i have a few 1911's
all run flawlessly, except for the Springfield RO Elite Target.  at first it wouldn't go completely into battery about 1 out of 20 shots, almost into battery but not quite.  i changed to a slightly heavier recoil spring and now it runs fine.  could have been needed more break in rounds bc the slide was super hard to rack at first, after a few hundred rounds it has loosened up some but its still tight.
my Springfield Long Beach Operator is the best I have.  its essentially a Loaded Operator.  i can't afford the full custom 1911 that runs$3-5k, so i went with the best that i could afford.  slide is tight too, the only 1911 i have to use the bushing wrench to take it apart.  but from the get go it has been great, no hiccups, very accurate, trigger is very crisp, sights are great, its a pleasure to shoot.  this is my best semiauto pistol.
you could spend a lot more for something custom if that's what you are looking for, but for me this works very well.  its more accurate than i can shoot and it is ultra reliable

Atlas Gunworks just introduced a 45 caliber 1911-style handgun on Facebook.

https://www.facebook.com/atlasgunworks/posts/45-acp-3-gun-monsterwhat-do-you-think-heavy-or-light-1911/1523049877820906/

Probably over $5K.

Honest Outlaw did a mini review of a different handgun, the Atlas Artemis,  at 7:59. The company's reputation seems to be tied to winning competition shooting events.
