Revolution. New tv show 9/17
« on: September 05, 2012, 07:18:25 PM »
Pilot available now @ Hulu.com

Our entire way of life depends on electricity. So what would happen if it just stopped working?
Well, one day, like a switch turned off, the world is suddenly thrust back into the dark ages. Planes fall from the sky, hospitals shut down, and communication is impossible. And without any modern technology, who can tell us why?
Now, 15 years later, life is back to what it once was long before the industrial revolution: families living in quiet cul-de-sacs, and when the sun goes down, the lanterns and candles are lit. Life is slower and sweeter. Or is it?

That show is great, made me look more into bow and arrows instead of just firearms.

i enjoy it. its pretty "hollywood" of course but its a neat concept for a show. ive gotten a few ideas from watching it. i too am reconsidering a compound or crossbow as a backup to the backup of my backup lol.
i cant explain why, but giancarlo esposito is one of my new favorite bad guys. between revolution and breaking bad his acting is impressive. hes pretty cold and calculated and doesnt look like your conventional bad guy.

i wonder how many of us would actually hand over our guns to some hack militia? id hide/bury em for later or use them to fight back if necessary.

In the begining I would use them to fight and protect, but as time goes on I would concentrate on bows and swords and if needed dig the guns up.

The show is good and like the idea and concepts behind it, but I feel like they keep straying too far from the original mission of save danny.

ok, i admit i've never watched the show, but i always wondered why in the previews it looks like only the bad guys have guns and the good guns have bows and swords
so the story is that all the people turned in their weapons?
that would NEVER happen

The story is set waaaaay in the future. Something like 10-15 years. Things have settled for the most part and most of the ammunition must be gone, leaving what people can craft. There are only a few people with centerfires, with the majority of the infantry using black powder muskets and such. Anyway, I don't find that part all that unrealistic, just the way that the power went off. Oh, and the whiney and fat people :)

I watch the show, but not sure if I am going to continue to watch.  The main character is super irritating and seems like one of those shows that will just keep dragging on.

Hahahahaahaha.  You would think after 15 years the fat guy wouldnt be so fat, and the girl wouldnt be such a softie wanting to help everyone they meet.
