Its not about feeling safe.  Its about being safe.  There is no evidence that guns cause more "unsafe-ness" than not having guns.  Gun's can't cause harm on their own.  A responsible gun owner is safer than many other things like driving. 

Since obviously this is related to covid.  Guns can't spread,  guns can't cause harm to others unintentionally.  There are strict regulations to guns.  (kinda like vaccines).  Have to do you basic due diligence (human user) to own and use guns.

There is a 0.00000001% chance someone could steal his guns and use them for harm. I don't see him turning in all his guns.
