New research shows that flushing a toilet can create a cloud of virus-containing particles that float in the air for more than a minute.

I get the snark, but seriously .... just put the lid down.

There was a Dr. Oz TV segment that used a Dicovery Channel video demonstrating the plume of water that shoots out as far as 20 feet when flushing a toilet.  With the lid open, it goes everywhere.  With the lid closed, hardly anything escapes.

Start at mark 3:30 for the toilet flush ...
