HIFICO: Pizzas & Permits night at HPD 10-20-21
« on: October 15, 2021, 09:19:16 PM »
Hawaii Firearms Coalition is celebrating our 2A wins and the start of HPD firearms evening hours for permitting and registration.  We want a lot of people to show up.  Apply for your permit to acquire or catch up on registration.  Apply for your long gun permit.  Apply for your carry permit.  Or just show up to support and eat pizza.

HPD will have extended hours every wednesday 8am to 6:30pm and will service everyone in line by 6:30pm no matter how long it takes.  I will be out there till the last person finishes even if it's midnight.  If you are registering a firearm, you don't have to bring the firearm in to do so but bring in your permit and firearm info (model, barrel length, serial# etc).

Thanks to my partner David Kikukawa (Danger Close Tactical) and attorney's Alan Beck and Stephen Stamboulieh for helping me win this in Yukutake v. Conners.

It was agreed to in the settlement.  We figured if there's enough demand and it goes late every night, they'll eventually add on more days on their own.

I love it.  I'll see you there!  Plus I can meet David Kikukawa and we can talk about a Ruger Mark 4 I've had my eye on!

They are not working on it.  They are hoping that the 9th Circuit will step in and either rule in favor of the State or put a stay.  If they lose they will slow roll the online registration until SCOTUS rules on it.  My proof --> 10 year+, billions of dollars, and we still don't have a rail.  My crystal ball says 15 years, millions of dollars, and will have so many flaws that every gun owners information will be spilled all over the internet.  Also the majority of the tax payers money to create the online system will get funneled to an anti 2A think tank that will make the process as hard and expensive for gun owners as possible.

So..yes... Never.  I am just going to have a bunch of guns that never get registered due to the lack of an online registration.

Like how the CA online info was leaked for a huge chunk of those who registered "assault rifles".

Can we ask the HPD about extending the active hours for visitors to its garage, and the municipal one west of it? No one wants to get a parking ticket after 5:30 PM.

I thought after hours the metered parking is free.  I could be wrong.

At the municipal parking garage I parked without feeding the meter before 8:30.  I even parked next to the garage security guard's truck.

He didn't do or say anything to me.

Pre-fill and print the firearms forms to make the process go faster.  You do not need to bring your firearms down for registration anymore, it's optional.  Keep it positive as this is a celebration and not a protest.

Forms:

Nice turn out for registration and carry permits. I think I was done at 7pm or 7:30pm and there were still 6-10 behind me.

Thanks to Zippz, London, and crew for the pizza. It’s always nice to see you guys in person to say thank you for all your hard work. Thanks again for the 2A victory.

Was a good turnout. The last person in line went in around 8:30.  What they do is at 6:30, they give everyone in line a number.  That way they don't need to have an employee stand behind the last person for who knows how long.  And they aren't relying on the honesty of the last person in line, or anyone is allowing cut ins.

There is a restroom here also that is open 24/7.  Go thru the main entrance and metal detector. If you're armed, let the cop at that station know.  Then walk to the 2nd window and make an immediate left.

Thank you all to those who came out.  This was a great celebration of a HUGE victory.
