So genius POTUS decides to use our oil reserves.  Which is basically a bandaid.  Side note he's taking help from Trump. Cause reserves have been low for decades, but Trump filled them up and without raising the cost of gas.

The reserves are NOT supposed to be used unless there's an emergency.

So, is Biden admitting that the economic situation is at emergency level now?  The only reason he released the reserves is because the prices are about a dollar more on average than a year ago.  Not because there are gas shortages.

It's not a bandaid.  It's a temporary boost to the supply in hopes it brings down cost.  I predict in most places, the cost reduction won't be anywhere near what the additional supply would normally produce due to the fact FUTURE gas prices from importers will continue upward.

Biden may lessen the sting, but the cause of the damage will continue unless he goes back to the energy policies implemented under Trump.

Typical asshat politician, tapping into the reserves to give the impression he is doing something to ease the situation he caused.

Seems biden is more reactive than proactive.  And his proactive policies tend to crash and burn.

Signs of a horrible, inept leader.

if someone didn't kill our domestic oil production in the first place...it's almost like running towards the opposing team's goal - now the rest of the world is taking advantage or our self-inflicted wound but instead of helping they are raiding our homes...kinda like the riots we had last summer....

it's something like 3 days worth of oil that they are releasing from the strategic oil reserve...

Morning news didn't mention how much. But made him sound like a savior to the problem, which is typical.  I didn' tknow it was 3 days worth.

Like Flapp mentioned, it's supposed to be for emergency use. So like war, shortage and stuff like that. There is no shortage, just higher cost, which was Biden's doing.

Maybe if you guys buy an EV, we can stretch that out to 3.7 days worth.

What we have here is failure to communicate...
We have an Oprah wannabe and a Native Indian wannabe trying too hard to be economists. This could be an episode of Family Guy. We have dumb people in charge with clowns trying to explain "science"

Dept of Interior wants to increase lease prices for companies who drill on federal land. All so the tax payers pay less. Umm.. said companies will just push the increased rent on the consumer.

Why, cause good ole climate change reasons from Bidens XO about reevaluating stuff like this.

We decided to skip Stewart Anderson's this Christmas Eve -- first time since we moved to Hawaii.

I started looking at prices of steaks and prime rib roasts.  Ribeye Steaks at Costco are in the $57-$72 range for packages of 4-5 steaks.  Six months ago, those same packages were in the $35-$45.

Ribeye roasts are about $14.95/lb, making the small roasts in the $70 range.

I can't even imagine what Stewart Anderson's is charging now. or what size and quality might be like.

When I go shopping at Times in Mililani there is "sticker shock" all over the store, lol!

Usually before there would be the blue sticker "weekly sale" signs on various meats at the meat counter.  Yesterday while checking out the counter not a blue sticker sign was to be found.  All were at regular retail prices.

Oh wait.  There was a blue sticker sign on one item:  Teriyaki beef in marinade.  They sell these in tubs and those in the meat industry know they use the "old" beef cuts that are discolored and unappealing and the teriyaki sauce hides this.  Add some fresh green onion and voila!  Teri Beef steaks!

Anyway the blue sticker sale sign got me excited.  I looked at the price and I thought to myself:  "This is a sale item...... ???"

While we were in SoCal my wife and I ate at an old local favorite fish restaurant. The petite filet was $53 with the larger one over $60. We decided on the swordfish which was much larger and cheaper than the filet.

BTW, I paid $4.79/gal for regular gas.  :grrr:

That same ribeye steak package at my local Costco here cost me in the $42-$47 range. I try to get only the 4 steak package that is at the lower end of the weight range. With only 2 of us we split a steak for dinner.

This has 100% to do with CA's gas regulations/taxes. Cause shipping from CA to HI oil cost extra and my 87 octane here is still $4.39.

Last time I went to Nico's and got a Furikake Ahi, it was $22 a plate. Prior to Biden, it was $18's.

Comparing my Costco receipts from even just a few months ago,  nearly everything we buy has gone up $3-$5.  Eggs,  mayonnaise,  snacks,  everything.

Got to start thinking of more ways to substitute,  diversify,  bulk by & grow more of my own foods
