Since I retired I do the grocery shopping.  I've been watching the prices and it seems there is a spike in pricing lately.

Forget about beef.  Prices are skyrocketing.  Didn't buy any steak today.  Prices are ridiculous.  I did buy hamburger.  Used to be $4.39/lb.  Now it's $6.49/lb.

Pork is pretty stable but pork chops that were once $2.39/lb. (which I considered on the high side) was listed at $4.49/lb. today.  But other pork products like ground pork and pork shoulder and butts didn't spike as much.

Poultry prices are on the rise.  What they do now is put 3 chicken thighs in a tray and the price is the same as when they put 4 chicken thighs on the tray.  Makes you think prices didn't go up.  A mainland whole fryer chicken is close to twenty dollars.  Used to be $12 max.  Nuts.

The 5 lb. bag of potatoes that was $3.99 a bag like forever is now $4.79 a bag.  Loose russet potatoes that used to be $1.19/lb. is now $2.29/lb.

Let's go Brandon.  Forever and ever.

And twice on Sunday.

Let me add to that;
I now have to schedule a "harvest" of my cattle 3 months in advance.
I have chickens so to some degree I don't see rises in egg prices, but Feed
is hard to find and when you do,  it is getting expensive.
I free range the chickens but feed them a little to keep them "friendly"
same with the cattle.
I can always get pork as we have wild pigs all over.
Fish has been tougher to get lately because of fuel prices.
So even us guys that raise a significant amount of our own food, feel the impact
of Brandon and his parties policies.

Kudow on the real cause of inflation

Rather than do my usual rants, I don't want to be another Kuleana,
I have this question, what are we going to do about it?

Kudlow said "Save America.  The CAVALRY is coming...."

I sincerely hope so.  But I can't help remembering those old cowboy and indian movies.

When people see their own money evaporating due to foolish gov. polices, only then will some die hard dems. begin to rethink their politics.
Right now I am working on my older brother and my younger sister to see the reality of how their money is being stolen.
Both of them were Blue Blood Democrats. Since their pensions and investments are now in peril, they are now seeing things differently.
We all have friends and family that only watch CNN, MSNBC, and other demorat stooges. It is my personal responsibility to educate as many as
I can. Unfortunately some are too far gone to be saved.

I am pretty sure I will be paying $6 a gallon for premium gas before the year is over.  It was $5.13 on Tuesday. Unfortunately my car requires premium.  Fortunately I don't need to drive much and a tank of gas will last me about 4 weeks.

Unfortunatly, there are still many with TDS and financially still ok, even with the higher prices.

The control the media has is very strong. There is a reason why HI is where it is today.

Never under estimate a politician's ingenuity when it comes to taxing the masses. Still want to know when they are going to tax surfboards.

Wrong.  Have a half brother probably like that and we have excommunicated each other for over a year now.  He went berserk when I told him the election was stolen.

I blame the English genes on his other side for the mental illness, that and law school.   :shake:

The hardest part is when I mention the cost of gas at the pump rising, the response is "Well, at least we can afford it".  The problem goes deeper than a group of people being able to afford. This type of reply doesn't' think about the people who are struggling and then the added cost for other goods that rely on fuel to be delivered to HI.

This is very unfortunate because many people do live in their ivory tower.  And the person who made this statement is my father.  So I can't argue too much due to respect and love.  But I try to get the message across. But TDS is very present with him.  Even other issues like crime because he never catches the bus or walks in not so nice areas. My mom on the other hand used to work in down town and caught the bus to work every morning at 6am. So she sees the druggies and stuff.  So she's more open minded because she XP's it daily for decades.  Father is the poster boy of how HI voters vote the same and see no consequences due to being comfortable financially. We are not a rich family, but very comfortable.  Always had a roof overhead, food on the table, and clothes on my back.  The attitude is like our politicians who never XP any hardships like the rest of HI folk do. Like Rep. Lopressi who is now pro self defense after being in 2 situations.
