Rifle side only allows slugs and at 50 yards.

I've done the bird shot/buck pattern at a HDF open shoot. There's 1 this Saturday.

808?  Or whatever the name of the old Magnum on Queen?  I've shot shotgun there a bunch of times before, but a LONG time ago.

Overall, HDF and HRA open shoots are opportunities, but you're going to have to wait between ceasefires/target changes, which can be a while.  That and shooting buck and birdshot can chew up target frames, so good to be mindful of that.

Cool! I just need to pattern 6 shot with a modified choke one time before I shoot a USPSA match.

I haven't gotten my Hunter's Ed card, but it's my understanding you can check zero on your sights/scope and pattern-check your shotgun in hunting areas if you're licensed to hunt.

First, check the area to see if the area is okay for discharging firearns:

Quote
It is prohibited within a designated safety zone or closed area for any person to possess a loaded firearm or discharge any firearm.

Maybe one of our avid hunters here can confirm this?  Or check with DLNR to be sure.

Some folks don't need  bird shot to chew up target frames.

Go shoot a round of Trap and tell the RSO you want to pattern your new choke. I've seen it done before. Maybe bring something good to eat and ask if you can pattern your shotgun. Bring your own piece of cardboard.

Nothing larger than #7 and buckshot can be used at the trap and skeet ranges. If you know someone who is a member of the Schofield Rod and Gun club you can pattern on the rifle range.
Hope this helps….
