Question about my sks (Read 3475 times)

Question about my sks

I got a sks with all matching numbers. When i got it from my friend. I was told it came from the military so it didnt come with any papers?

Its in super great condition no rust. Serial number is in the low 1millions

Also would like to know what would it be valued at. I removed the old stock with bayonet and upgraded to a tactical style stock

That got my attention.  Could you post some pics?

I’d long been a fan of SKS, but went with AKs as I missed the boat on the plentiful and budget SKSs.

Only pic i got at the moment. Im Moving out and realtor came to check out the house so i had to store them at my sisters place. I swapped the old stock and bayonet to the tactical style

I "watch" them on GunBroker when offered by a "Saved Search". Yesterday the one I was watching (Chinese) went for $520 + $40 for shipping. It was in like new condition with bayonet. Russian ones go for about double that.

Interesting!  I like it.  I have an AK47 Project thread for what mods I did to one of my AKs.  The mods I did were aimed a functionality, and does certainly have an "AR genes" aspect, which seems like your SKS went that way.

Um. Only things i would have is the old stock (monte carlo) which is black ( looks the same as the wooden stock) and the bayonet

If anyone wants the original furniture from my AK, let me know.  I think (I'll have to verify) wood handguard and thumbhole style stock.  Maybe some miscellaneous other pieces.
