Our ruling class leaders hate us. It is as obvious as the nose on your face. They have the power to bring oil and gas prices back into line. Back to pre Biden prices. They choose not to do that. They choose to do whatever it takes to raise the prices of oil and gas. This is really not about the climate or price of oil. They hate you. They hate all of us. This is all about their control of you, your body and your life.

My car is a 2009 Infiniti FX50, 7 spd V8 that gets an average of 18.5 mpg.  It has 84000 miles on it and very enjoyable to drive.  Even if gas went to $6 a gal, with the amount of driving I do, I would still spend about $250 or less on gas.  I would love to get an EV, but on the BI it has to be AWD and get a minimum 300 miles range.  That means a car payment of around $800 a month since I can't afford to buy one cash.  Then I still have the cost of charging it and a much higher insurance.   The math doesn't make sense.
My truck is a 2001 Dodge 2500 4x4 CTD with a 5th wheel tow hitch.  I drive it an average of 200 miles a month. Currently there are no EV trucks capable of towing my big 9000 lb tractor and 3000 lb trailer and all current new ICE and upcoming  EV trucks capable of towing at least 14k is way over my price range.

My car is a 2018 Toyota Camry with the base motor which I think is a 2.7L 4 cylinder and an 8 spd transmission. According to the on board computer I can get up to 40mpg at times. And I average 32-34mpg real world driving. I drive an average of 600 miles a month. The car had 16,660 miles on it when I bought it 5/2020 and it currently has 28,000. I paid $22k for it last year. It doesn’t make any sense for me to get an EV (Even tho I would like one) and spend $40k+ just to save a few dollars a month in gas. Actually, to buy a New Camry compared to a new EV would probably take close to the lifetime of the vehicle to break even in fuel costs based on the price difference of the two cars. And of course it makes even less sense the cheaper the gas car you buy. And if you average it out over the lifetime of both vehicles the costs are close to even depending on a lot of variables.

Here is a study I found from the Dept of Energy. I did not read this I only glanced and the conclusions

The math in my head may be skewed, but i keep looking at our crowded streets and highways and seeing all the cylinders that are effectively burning a fuel that delivers a good amount of energy per atom, and wonder if we replaced every one of those cars with ones that use a less efficient form of energy, electric vehicles, would our electric grid be able to absorb the demand of all that needed energy? Also as the world pushes to remove power plants in lieu of solar panels, where will all this energy come from in the evening when we all "Plug in"? I don't believe a pv network that stores to batteries, only to drain them into batteries is system of success. My house proves it with 30kwh of storage for all my electrical needs, and my car with a 75kwh battery. I drain my whole nights energy into my car just so i can get to work the next day.

How dare both of u. It aint about the cost, but about saving the earth. Who cares if u have to spend more or buy a car that cannot so what u need it to do, if the climate changes by 1 degree in 100 years.

How dare YOU!  It's not about saving the Earth.  They admit that if the US did everything the Paris Climate Accords required of us, it would still fail to stop climate change and the apocalypse that follows.

If you read AOC's Climate Change Manifesto, it's about controlling the economy, government making decisions for industries, and destroying what's left of capitalism here.

You touched on one example (EV), but this madness reaches into the entire economic system and converts us into a Socialistic economic model "justified" by claims we will be saving the world.

How dare they!
The reasonable man adapts himself to the world;
the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself.
Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man.

It’s not about how much you or anyone spends… never mind how much you have to pay for that change that is “proven by science”.

Don’t you know? If you went to a reputable HS, maybe get chance.

Grifters such as highly paid musicians, "artists", sports players? Can our society do without them? versus the people that cure us, keep the lights on, keep the water running, help bring food to our tables?

Grifters such as highly paid musicians, "artists", sports players?  Can our society do without them? Yes.  ;D versus the people that cure us, keep the lights on, keep the water running, help bring food to our tables? No.  ;D

My opinion of course, coming from someone whose career was to keep the lights on.  People in the latter group is what keeps our nation running and the fat, greedy, inept politicians happy.

And why do you think these musicians, artist, athletes, etc... don't care about inflation?  Because they make enough that it doesn't matter.  Many don't think about the little guy.

Even my parents who are comfortable don't see any error into what this admin is doing.  Pay more for gas, turkey, etc..."we can afford it".  Anything to praise Biden and Orangeman bad.  It's sad that this is the mentality of many in our state and why the same type of politicians get voted in every year.  Dad have the same philosophy on crime, cause it doesn't affect him (as in never a victim), he don't want CCW, tasers, stand your ground, etc...My mom on the other hand worked in downtown and caught the bus to work every morning at 6am. So she sees the crackheads and stuff.

And it's not like my father doesn't know the stories. I've been telling him about good friends who are struggling cause they got laid off due to covid.  And when the companies want to rehire, it's often at lesser pay.  At least he doesn't respond with a "find another job, it's easy".  And same goes with all my crime stories/situations.  So it's not like he is in his total fantasy world.
