A statement such as this was very common during the so-called Territorial Era (1898-1959) of Hawaii that was routinely used by the racist White oligarchy to justify the exclusive hiring of White people from the continental US to fill most of the government and civil service positions; thereby, discriminating against all other non-White individuals during that period.

You haven't heard?  Only actual actors that identify as the character (Gay, Lesbian, Trans, Bi, Black, Asian, etc.) are allowed to play the characters.  Scarlett Johansson was cast for the part of a transgender person, and the woke left went  b@t-sh!t crazy -- to the point that she had the role taken away!
