A comment by Inspector triggered this thought in my head.

What brilliance would be lost in history if the woke culture existed 40 to 50 years ago ?

No Carlin. No Pryor. No Murphy. No Gleason. No Dangerfield. Pushing now for no Chappelle but he’s got a huge following and ain’t taking no guff.
No Archie Bunker, No Honeymooners, etc.
No Redd Fox.

Glad though that some comedians now are pushing back and gaining popularity by the pushback. Joe Rogan and Chappelle. Doug Stanhope.

I watched Murphy's and Priors stand up from the 80's recently and wow.  The left would have them fired, banned from venues, and they would have to make a public apology.

Johnny Carson, Sammy Davis Jr., Flip Wilson come to mind right away.

But my favorite comedian of all time is Red Skelton. A patriot if I ever seen one. Here is an oldie but goodie by him. Worth the 4 minutes to watch:
