State of the Forum (My Opinion)
« on: December 17, 2021, 11:01:37 AM »
As I come back from my ban, I had time for some reflection.   Not only to reflect upon myself but on this site.  How hypocritical some on this forum are.  Many here bash liberals for being liberal.  But the second someone "bashes" someone for their religious opinions that’s somehow a no-go zone?  Reminds me of no gun zones for snowflakes.  If you don't treat others as snowflakes don't be prepared to be treated as one.  If you “attack” others for certain beliefs, be prepared for others to do the same to you.  Look at the Trump topics.  Some here complain of TDS then proceed to do the same thing for Biden.  This is a private site so these actions are allowed but it should be highlighted as special rules.  Don't pretend to be something you are not.  This is not truly a forum for the 1st amendment.   This is not about protecting free speech.  This is about protecting certain free speech.  Also protecting certain feelings. The ability to bash liberals, tout religion and troll the non-believers/conformists.  But the second the non-believers "post back” they are to be attacked and banned.  If some members are allowed to "troll" and "attack" others but not the other way around that’s not quite a fair system.  If in one post you make critiques about someone's political thoughts,  someone can do the same for your religious/etc thoughts.  I don't see much "respect" for some political opinions.  If you want religion to be a protected zone and thou shall not attack religion make it clear.  Don't protect peoples "feelings” under the guise of "trolling".  Then attacking Islam and religious terrorism should technically be protected the same.  Unless you make the rule just for Christian religion.  I am looking for specific clarity.  When you generalize the rules and interpret them based on your opinions is near impossible for people to follow.  Especially if you don't have the same mindset as those interpreting the "rules".  Someone’s troll might be someone’s spokesperson.  It depends on what side you are on.  Everything is getting too partisan.  This forum is transforming into the next Facebook.   The Facebook this forum supposedly “hates”.

A fun example of the hypocrisy is if someone posted anything positive of Biden or being anti-gun.  A bunch of people would attack such person and maybe infer they are an “idiot”.  But if anyone did the same thing about people believing in their religion, they get banned?

Dish out only what you can receive.   If you can’t receive criticisms on your beliefs don’t criticize others on theirs.  Treat others how they treat you.   If they are nice, be nice back.  If not, then be free to do the same back.  Just like self-defense.   Don’t expect special treatment.

I will try navigating this new mine field and best conform to its moderators’ opinions and rules.  Just getting my opinions out there in an attempt to improve this site.  Embrace the 1st amendment objective.  This is why even hate speech is free speech.  Just as the 2nd and all the other amendments of our important constitution.  Protect everyone’s FREEDOM and RIGHTS.   Even if you don’t believe in them.

at least you not moving goalposts...

Stated it more public this time.  Thought on it again and didn't make any drastic opinion changes.   Have to balance the goalposts afterall   Covid and science does change over time afterall.

I'm going to dive in just this 1 time because new members might read this and get the wrong impression.

1) Stop playing the victim. This was covered with you already in my July 2021 post to you and what your problem is. We have circled around again.

2) If anyone read your rant and didn't  follow what you're posting is like, then they may think you're right and everyone else is wrong. But we all know this to be false. Notice how you mention the most the religion topic. No mention on how you post an opposite the view for many other topics, then are wrong about it while others post data on why you are wrong. Then you even post articles to try and back up your statement, but you failed to read the entire article and your own article contradicts what your statement is.  We have gone over this already with you. Examples are in the COVID thread, Trump topics, Climate change topics, EV topic,etc...Then you move goal post to CYA and refuse to admit you're wrong until many post later, and it's even a half baked admission of being wrong.  It's not like others are making stuff up to disprove you, they post links to studies/articles showing you're wrong.

3) Again you mention 1st Amendment. The 1A is so the government cannot censor you. Private people/entities can do as they please.  So when I say don't reply and you reply and site 1A, you are wrong again. I just ignored you because you never learn. Even though we did cover this already with you more than once.  And you keep mentioning FB, our problem is they are getting the best of both worlds, publisher and producer. Again, we covered this already with you.  You still failed to learn/remember.

4) You mention the hypocrisy about Biden if someone mentions something positive. We have a "good things Biden has done" thread and not much in there.  Again you are trying to play the victim, if someone does post a positive thing, and someone disagrees, they usually will post links why they disagree.  Refer to #2 above about studies/data being used and not feelings/emotion.

5) Everyone else pretty much has some degree of respect on this forum for other members.  YOU are the only one that has lost it from many.  You are again playing the victim, when you are not. You are treated how you treat others. Refer to all the above 1-4.  Your respect was lost by you and over time. It wasn't out of the blue for no reason.  Notice how again you focus on "belief".  And you don't say criticism on facts/logic/studies/data.  You are cherry picking like the religion topic.  Refer to #2 above.

6) Because I did interact with you in person, I felt the need to help you by my July post to you.  But I have since given up because you cannot change and it's a waste of my time.  You are much better in person than online. Maybe something changes your personality, IDK.  And our interaction wasn't a short 5 minute one either. We were in a group conversation for a few hours on multiple occasions

7) There is nothing to improve this site for.  YOU are the problem, you need to improve and change. Again, you are blaming others/something else instead of owning up to the fact that you are the problem.  Since you have been gone and on the other occasions you were gone, the forum was much better.  We call that a clue.  Another clue is if 1 person gets suspended 3x in a 5 month period.  You are trying to say that everyone else is the issue and not YOU.

8) If you think there are issues, feel free to leave. No one is forcing you to post here. YOU are the problem and you're the one who is adding to your problem and keeping it going.

9) There is no mine field to navigate, just be cool and think.  Everything should be fine.  You are again blaming others for your suspension.  It is YOUR fault.

There is no need to  reply to this post, refer to #3 above. If you cannot control yourself, then go ahead because I don't want you to have emotional issues by  responding and it's bugging you and growing inside and festering.  I will not reply to any of your post going forward.

If you do have a mental development issue, please let us know because then I may be more understanding because it can't be helped if that is the reason why you post the way you do.  I will still ignore you, but just have a different understanding of why you post the way you do.

Example: I know a guy who has a very good and hard job. But he has Asbergers, so in person he takes some understanding to why he says the things he does.  This is just an example.

I am going to respond for the same reasons as yourself, for the newbies.

1)   Stop playing the victim. This was covered with you already in my July 2021 post to you and what your problem is. We have circled around again.
a.   Not playing victim

We have gone over this already with you. a.   Incorrect, fake news.
b.   I mentioned religion because apparently that’s why I got banned the most
c.   There are many topics I disagree but also many we agree, yet the focus is always on what we disagree.
d.   I have provided proof, but in the end your options are unchanged.  And mine too.  So doesn’t invalidate mine.
e.   There is a lot of fake news out there and many find its way to this forum,  I simply point it out.

You still failed to learn/remember.
a.   Yes this is not the government and this forum is free to do what it wants.
b.   I am pointing out that many here preach the 1st but don’t practice it.
c.   I’ve covered this more than once, its about principles. The idea of free speech.  Surely you might understand this but this forum technically can’t do anything about the 2nd, its not a government entity either yet we preach it.
d.   The idea is if you trash facebook for “moderating on opinions”, you probably shouldn’t do the same.

4)   You mention the hypocrisy about Biden if someone mentions something positive. We have a "good things Biden has done" thread and not much in there.  Again you are trying to play the victim, if someone does post a positive thing, and someone disagrees, they usually will post links why they disagree.  Refer to #2 above about studies/data being used and not feelings/emotion.
a.   I have posted before about the good things Trump has done (immigration) yet I still have “TDS”?
b.   Idk what you obsessions about being a victim.  I am pointing out facts.

Refer to #2 above.
a.   If you don’t respect me, don’t respect me.  Not forcing no one.  I have opinions on others too.
b.   Just pointing out hypocrisy.  Religion tends to be the one that shows it well.

6)   Because I did interact with you in person, I felt the need to help you by my July post to you.  But I have since given up because you cannot change and it's a waste of my time.  You are much better in person than online. Maybe something changes your personality, IDK.  And our interaction wasn't a short 5 minute one either. We were in a group conversation for a few hours on multiple occasions
a.   Everyone is worse online.  Online tends to bring up topics that people don’t agree on.  In real life its not like religion, or abortion or other topics came up.
b.   Probably more blunt online too.
c.     Maybe its covid.  Lack of real socialization for 2 years.

You are trying to say that everyone else is the issue and not YOU.
a.   That’s your opinion.

8)   If you think there are issues, feel free to leave. No one is forcing you to post here. YOU are the problem and you're the one who is adding to your problem and keeping it going.
a.   I have my reasons to be here, not only about you other specific others.
b.   I feel I have a mission to help 2a and stop fakenews and better the human race.

9)   There is no mine field to navigate, just be cool and think.  Everything should be fine.  You are again blaming others for your suspension.  It is YOUR fault.
a.   If you read the post you would know it’s not only my fault.  Nothing is perfect.

This is just an example.

a.   Don’t have any mental issues.   Just different opinions, one could say the same of yourself and others.  (tin foil and fakenews)

My analysis:  politics, environmental issues, and topics dealing with COVID are your religion.  You base too much of your opinions on faith and emotions.  No different than someone who believes in the teachings of the church -- whatever church to which they choose to belong.

That is your religion.  Trust government.  Obey the mandates.  Biden is better.  Trump did nothing good.  Those are conclusions that are based on blind opinion and feelings -- not fact.  It's easy for others to contradict you on these topics, because there are mountains of evidence to prove their side of the discussion.

Religion is based on pure faith.  But, unlike all those other topics, there is no scientific or academic evidence that disproves those beliefs -- only your opinion.  Since this specific topic is at the very heart of the founding of this nation -- the freedom to worship as you wish, or not worship at all, without interference -- your actions constitute a breech of that doctrine.

You seem to only support the protection of your right to free speech under the 1A, but you ignore the protection of an individual's right to worship as they wish, or not to worship, which is contained in that same amendment.  Talk about hypocrisy!

Constantly harassing anyone who expresses support of religious freedom of their own beliefs becomes tiresome.  Logically, you can no more disprove the existence of God than others can scientifically prove He exists.  So, why are you so adamant that others agree with you?

We've covered this time after time, but you continue to troll topics by posting about religion WHERE NOBODY BUT YOU BROUGHT RELIGION INTO IT.

You're rather sad, really.  I can't imagine being so worried about how other people choose to live their own lives, to the point of arguing with complete strangers about their religion.  Don't you have anything in your own life to worry about?

This is why we ignored you.  You are not offering anything of value -- just more arguing over the same things without end.

Nobody here cares what you have to say after the 10th+ time.  You pretend you are reiterating for the benefit of new members, but you have no evidence anyone just joining the forum agrees with you.  Again, that's a baseless belief you cling to so you can justify your repetitive harassment of people you disagree with.
The reasonable man adapts himself to the world;
the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself.
Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man.

I disagree.  Mine have facts and can be proven.  I listen to scientists with Data not people who talk to “imaginary” beings.  I follow data not text in a book.

Everyone has things they believe in, and rules they follow.  No one is exempt.  That is not what religion is.  Not sure if you understand what religion means.  I follow the law, trust the government etc, are just the way one lives.  Anyone born does this either via family, rules, etc.  They are backed by something.  I place my “faith” in things backed with science or authority.  Things tangible.  Magic is not one of them. Government exists, laws, exist, science exists.  If I don't follow the laws there are consequences.  If one doesn't follow religion in America nothing should happen to you.  So believing in laws is a requirement of freedom.

My actions do NOT breech that doctrine.  You can believe what you want.  I’ve never said you couldn’t I will judge what you believe in just like many of you do to me.  And don’t force me to obey the laws of your religion.  I will eat pork all I want, sex or abort or whatever to my legal desire.  That’s American, that’s freedom.  If you don’t want to eat pork or wait till marriage or anything else.  That’s on you.  I will laugh, judge or say nothing.

We can relate this politically too,  you can be a democrat, or a republican.  I will judge you on which party you choose.  That's natural.  And those parties will judge me.  We all have the rights to discuss, argue and dislikes each other.  Along with positive things like understanding and compromise.

I do not under any circumstance want to prevent someone’s right to worship.  Or someone’s right to laugh at someone who worships.  If those who are religious want to stand on a street corner and tell me I will go to hell so be it.  But they also have to listen to me calling them an idiot or similar.  This is why all speech is protected even hate.

While I can’t truly disprove religion there are more facts that human religions are wrong.  Look at the bible and other religions that change all the time.  Shouldn’t a true religion be perfect?  Why does god change characteristics and values?

I am anti-religious as much as others here and anti-anti2a people.  Its my right.

I brought up religion because its why I was recently banned.  There are many other examples.   The point being free speech regardless should be accepted on this forum.

Trump did some good, biden did some good.  Both did bad.  Biden is better than Trump but not by that much.  I would like neither of them.  Please get your facts right if you wish to comment about my politics.

This is a great example of how the 1st amendment works.  I have commented on religion and other beliefs you hold and you have done the same on mine.  Neither of us should be banned.  Even if both of us disagree.

I brought up religion because its why I was recently banned.  There are many other examples.   The point being free speech regardless should be accepted on this forum.

Nothing you typed here has any meaning.  It's argumentative, baseless, unsupported, illogical arguing -- pure and simple.Saying  you don't know if I know what religion means is typical of you.  Insulting me is your standard MO when you can't make your case.

"I will judge what you believe in just like many of you do to me."  Who said you have enough information to judge anyone's religious or spiritual beliefs?

We have tons of evidence (your own words and opinions) with which to judge you.  You give if freely and often.

You're free to voice your hate for religion.  But, you are not free to post that opinion over and over and over again, nor the same snide comments mocking religion or spiritual beliefs.  Doing so constitutes harassment and should be a valid reason for PERMANENT BANNING from this forum.

If I throw a party, and you do the same thing, I can throw you out of my house for disrupting a cordial event.  That should apply to all Internet sites.  If you're only here to disrupt, then you should be banned -- forever.  Nobody wants to see nonstop bickering, repetitive comments in every single topic they read, nor mocking of other people's religious beliefs.

We all know what you think, feel, believe, disagree with, and imagine.  You've spared us no comment in that regard.  What you don't seem to get is we are fine with you having those opinions and EXPRESSING THEM WHEN APPROPRIATE.  Continuously mocking, arguing and repeating the same comments is the problem.  You seem to have a real problem grasping that concept.  Sometimes I get the feeling you are mentally deficient in some areas -- unable to learn such a simple and often repeated explanation as to why we get tired of your posts.  it's not the content ... it's the frequency.

Rather than use this thread to do EVEN MORE ARGUING, why not REALLY REFLECT on the words we took the time and effort to share with you. Nobody here is arguing their points for why they believe in religion, but you went into detail AGAIN about what you believe about religion.  Maybe that can serve as a clue.  We don't intend to argue about the topic.  We simply see no further need to do so.  You haven't received or understood that message no matter how often it's been sent to you.

What's really mind boggling to me is ... why are you even here?

You aren't posting much in the way of 2A information or topics.  You only seem to care about religion and politics.  And if you think everyone is ganging up on you, why stay?  What could you possibly be getting out of being here?

Are you only here to disrupt and argue?  Sure does seem like it.

This thread drives home the point that he has no intention of changing his ways on this forum.  Notice his title is about the state of the forum.  He sees the forum as the problem, not his behavior.

Can't fix what he refuses to acknowledge is really broken.

Cause not all 2a people are religious nor republican.   It shouldn't be like that.   It's a right for everyone.

What's even more mind boggling is that you believe that answered my question.

Well Omni, if you don’t like it then don’t let the door hit ya where the good lord split ya. It’s all about choices.

It's hard to claim victim if you choose to stay on the plantation.

There are many other sites that conform to his way of thinking, and he sure as hell isn't winning over the hearts and minds of anybody here.

If he refuses to play nicer and won't leave, the only thing I can speculate is he's intentionally disrupting the forum for reasons we can only assume.

I will say you are partially correct. Is this website a bastion of objective minded people having non-emotional conversations and debates? Not at all. Are there certain stances and opinions that people will tend to react to with hostility? Yup. Can you stop others from behaving that way? Nope. All you can do is moderate your own responses and try not to pour gas on the fire. If you say something perceived as insulting they are going to dig further into their foxhole rather than consider your point. Don't get into pissing matches anymore.

Plus, in all fairness, I don't know what you expected would come out in reply to this type of post but mockery.
