To argue with a person who has renounced the use of reason is like administering medicine to the dead.  Thomas Paine.

No man can get rich in politics unless he is a crook.  It cannot be done. Harry Truman

Agreed.  Pain is a great teacher.
No one is coming, it’s up to us.

Legislation should never be about depriving law abiding citizens of something, but rather taking those things away from criminals.

Agreed.  Pain is a great teacher.

... and fear is a powerful motivator.

The problem is getting the subject conditioned so they fear the pain BEFORE they exhibit the negative behavior.

the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself.
Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man.

Many ranges have colored lights to indicate when a line is hot/safe.

Just a visual indicator that can also remind you not to approach the bench.

Usually it is a red flashing light or LED sign that is turned on when the line is safe.

When the line is hot, the lights are off so they don't distract shooters.

If you start to approach the bench, the light should remind you to stay back behind the line until it's off.

Something like that.

I like the shock collar idea.

That said, if the "offender" isn't aware or in capable of being aware that THEY are the problem, problems will persist.

Sometimes just no can. . .

Time mark 0:20:  Lights and buzzers to signal "cease fire" -- people may be down range.

One example of how other ranges work.

You could make them take all instructions from the tower. Set up a retraining area. Every time they cross the line send them over to be retrained. Don't allow them back on the range until they have been retrained.

Did you get retrained?

" has anyone looked into low-cost, effective remedies?"
Dog shock collars?

RO with a bull whip?

Pit bulls?

Evidently you are dealing with the low average IQ that Hawaii is known for.
Mississippi and Louisiana no doubt have similar problems.

Would also help if they know how to do maintenance on the long range targets
If you allow government to break the law for an "emergency" they will create "emergencies" to break the law.

Cheaper to buy a parrot -- one without Tourette's.

I don’t know about you guys but The Voice ( Rest his soul) was PTSD enough.
When he yelled at you over the speaker system, most people learned.

So how was it today?  How often was the Yellow Line violated?

I haven't been on weekends for years.  Figure the Yellow Line infraction must happen more often since I assume it's busier on weekends.

I go during the weekdays.  So far, every time I go at least 2 times there is a Yellow Line Infraction

edited to add:  I should say at most.  Doesn't happen as much when I go weekdays.
