How are the lines at HPD lately?

Beginning on Monday, October 18, 2021, the HPD Firearms Section will be open for
walk-in Permit-to-Acquire and Registration. There will be no appointments provided.

M/T/Th/F – 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
Wed – 8:00 am to 6:30 pm
excluding Holidays

Are there still really long lines?

Been there a few times. Line has been short.

Went last Wednesday to renew rifle permit, got there about 4:15, done at 4:30. The municipal parking lot across Alapai Street is free after 4pm.

Went to renew my long gun permit on 11/12/2021 about 8:30am. Two persons in line for PTA. About 8 persons in line for Registration/PTA pick-up.
Returned to pick up long gun permit on 11/26/2021 about 8am. About five persons in line for PTA and No line for Registration/PTA pick-up.
Overall a very pleasant experience all things considered

I had no one in front of me on registration and 1 person when I went to get a permit.

Was there Monday the 20th @ 2pm to get a PTA and long gun permit and it was empty…. :thumbsup:

Went this past Monday around 0940.  No one in line.  Just one person in the whole waiting area, including records.  Was in and out in about 15 mins.  Longest part of the wait was waiting outside to be let in the building, and the firearms section had a tough time verifying that my rifles were imported.  It was done earlier that morning, but I guess it took them a while to locate.

Picked up my rifle permit at 5:15 today, at the registration window . . . was empty.
