Some people couldn't accept it that this man was the one who jumpstarted the vaccine effort

Democrats taking their motto "Never let a good crisis go to waste" to the extreme.

If it means getting Trump out of the White House, It's worth thousands more dying.

I wouldn't give him that much credit, Trump didn't jumpstart the vaccine effort, other people came up with the plan and implemented it. Trump's role was much more of just approving the plan.

He cut the normal new vaxx process down from years to less than a year.

I would say china jump started the vaxx effort when they released covid.

Do you think he actually came up with the idea or do you think researchers came up to him with the plan, presented it to Trump and he said "sounds good, go do that"?

He probably told them to rush things and dont worry about the red tape. He wil take care of it, hence the years shaved off.

Funny the old tweets by people who refused the vaxx cause trump did the above. Only to then take it once biden took office, like it was a different vaxx and celebrate it.

The President has the power to do a lot of things.  If he found funding, reduced redundant and unneeded requirements, shortened time schedules, got the right people to talk together more quickly, and pushed the companies to more than they pretended they could and in less time than they said, then --YES!! -- Trump made the whole thing happen.

That's how businesses that succeed are run.  The CEO makes whatever is in the way vanish and motivates the people running things to wrk harder, look for shortcuts, and think outside the box.

Ever watch The Apprentice?  He wanted to reward people for getting results in the face of challenging and often difficult circumstances.  Results were the bottom line.  Didn't matter how anyone felt as long as the mission objective was achieved.

So, believe what you want, but I can't see any other administration getting it done like Trump's did.

I guarantee that no matter who was in power the same decision would have been made to rush to approval process.

However it is rather ironic that Trump supporters wan't to give Trump credit for the vaccine while they are also much less likely to be willing to take the vaccine. So the vaccine is risky and effectiveness is questionable but good job doing it?

Please understand that my criticism is not about Trump in any way, it is about giving too much credit to people in leadership. Presidents and such leaders are brought ideas and they pick the good ones but it is the lower level people doing the real work and getting it done. It would be like the president taking credit for D-Day rather than the generals and soldiers who planned and executed it all. From my understanding of the background this was not Trump's idea, it was just brought to him and he approved it (which was the right call in my opinion)

You "guarantee me" an opinion of yours is true, even without an ounce of evidence to back you up?

Worthless comment.

Are you saying one can't hold two seemingly opposing opinions and be correct about both?

One is the SPEED at which the vaccine was developed,
and the other is the lack of truthfulness, transparency, and consistency in what we've heard from  Fauci, the CDC and others during the Biden administration.

I get that you're trying to use this as a mechanism to convince us that we can't support Trump and distrust the vaccine at the same time.  That's not even close to true.

Incorrect. A guarantee is not an opinion.
I listened to news piece about how project warspeed was developed, it wasn't Trump's idea. The authors of the plan pitched it to him and he said yes.

Your turn, why should Trump get so much credit just for approving the plan?

If someone thinks the vaccine is not safe or effective then why give credit for developing it quickly? I built this car in 2 days! But the brakes don't work, do I get credit?

Now that Trump has doubled down pro-mRNA despite all the ghastly evidence I'm pretty sure he's not getting back in the oval office. We have a couple years to go and the body count is already massive, never mind the unknown long term effects. They gave him an out but he just re-tied himself to a sinking ship.

Did Eisenhower get approval to commence D-Day from Roosevelt and other allied leaders (England, Canada, etc...) since he was the guy in charge of the entire operation?

In any large organization, the leader is responsible for everything the people they have working for them do.

If the organization does something bad, the leader gets the blame.

If the organization does something good, the leader gets the credit.

For government agencies and groups, like the White House, the President is the leader.  The buck stops with him.  If something bad happens, we expect him to take action to prevent the same thing from happening again -- like firing people, fixing policies, etc.  If something good happens, we also expect him to reward the people most responsible.

I'm sorry you never had any leaders where you worked who did these things.  Too many managers never learned to be leaders.  They take all the credit, and shift all the blame as they throw the people who didn't do anything wrong under the bus.

Hillary Clinton said she took full responsibility for the Benghazi attack, yet she refused to step down as Secretary of State.  So, what exactly was the point of taking responsibility?  We all know she was in charge and her personal decisions lead to 4 Americans being murdered.  Nobody was ever actually held accountable for that failure, not even the attackers.

Yes, we do give people who lead a group the credit or blame, because the group doesn't succeed or fail on their own.  It takes leadership, management, super vision -- pick one -- to organize, give direction, assign responsibilities and so on so the group works together to achieve stated objectives.  Those things happen at the top, not among the people doing the work.

I agree that leaders take the credit and also take the blame.

But at my former workplace the "leaders" take the credit but when it comes to blame they blame us, the workers.

There were no leaders at my former workplace.  Just parasites that couldn't make it out in the field but latched on to the boss once the boss couldn't figure out what to do with these leeches.

So the boss made them "leaders".  The boss wasn't a very good leader also.  Should have fired their ass.

Ok.  Sorry, off topic again.  I have issues.  Glad I retired.  But the nightmares remain.
