Due to crackheads breaking into cars often, i do not keep a BOB in my car. Only thing i got is 2 TQs, israeli bandage, and glass breaker in the center consule.

Reminds me of the missile warning, luckily it was early as most people were at home.

No. I am not. I am counting on our government to take care of me. 
I have no survival equipment,  firearms or food and water supplies.  I also have no money.

No. I made the decision we need to hunker down here if something goes awry. Phoenix people may try to bug out here. I’ve put in my preps. Now I am hardening this place. I have family that will also need a place to bug out to and we decided this is where they are coming to. The rest of my family is also in a good place in UT.

I also will not bug out and will hunker down.  My current thought is that there is probably no place I'd be comfortable going to on Oahu other than where I am now.

My immediate family (kids and grandkids and their partners or spouse) will come to my small, simple, residence where we can support each other.

My dwelling also is located on the central plains of this island, so we are not affected by tsunamis, unless it's a tsunami generated by Commifornia  falling into the Pacific Ocean due to the San Andreas fault.

Missle alert?  Well, if this time it's for real, it's best to be with your family till the end.

VA had a major snow story yesterday. Vehicles stuck on the highway overnight. Wonder how many ran out of gas. As a good measure, I always kept my tank at 1/2 full b4 refilling.  Now that I have an EV, when it goes to 70%, I recharge back to 90% (car maker recommends not going to 100% all the time, unless going on a road trip). Only reason why I charge at 70% is because it's convenient due to the free charger being at my office. So when it's open, I hop in.

A few years ago, we were at Trader Joes in Vegas. A woman was waiting outside for her husband. He was coming from some where on the main highway. This highway has accidents often which causes hours of delay. So an accident did happen and he was delayed. So it's a good think they keep water and snacks in the car due to this happening often.  But she was waiting outside and had TJ's put the perishables in their fridge. We left, so IDK how long until her husband showed up.

Since my wife travels a lot for work, she talks to many people who leave their purses on the seat of their car and eat dinner or be gone for hours and no problem. Unlike HI who would get their window bashed in. Not every city is safe, like Portland, Seattle, San Fran, San Jose. But the safe ones she mentioned are Madison, WI, Austin, San Antonio, DFW, Northern WA close to the Canada border, border of WA and OR.

In Japan, it's common for people to leave their bags/laptops on a table and go to the restroom or grab food. Seen it happen all the time at the old Shirokiya village. HPD is on site to make a report cause someone stole a ladies purse she left on the table. Sucks cause inside is her passport.

I rotate mine jan 1st every year. Same goes with HP ammo, but didnt do it in 2020 due to the cost.

I do the same. Including replacing all the smoke detector batteries in the house. That way they don’t go off in the middle of the night.

Yeah, they tend to do that. Ours had the low battery chirp at 2am. So I removed the battery, but it's hardwired so it kept chirping.  Luckily my neighbor was up at had a spare battery.  Now I keep a few as back up.  I didn't want to unplug it from the hardwire just in case it sets of the main alarm or something. That's beyond my pay grade.

Too bad about Whiskers, but you were more of a dog person anyway... "

   There are other BO things like fire starter, knife, flashlight,  compass, water purification etc . . so it's an all around BOB

Oh, and I forgot to mention my safe has an electronic keypad. So those batteries get replaced every year as well. I always keep extras for all my devices (especially TV remotes). And I take all the batteries out of devices I don’t intend to use for a while such as my stud finder.
