The EOTech red dot for pistol looks good. I like how you do not have to remove the RDS to replace the battery.  And it looks more tacticool than the Holosun one. But IDK what the price is.  If it's near the Trijicon RMR, then I'm gonna stick with Holosun.

I really like the Holosun optics.  I have 1 on my AR, and 3 more on pistols.  all dont need to remove to replace battery, also has solar power.  50k hours battery life. shake awake.  has some new models, some are fully enclosed and more durable.  Holosun are getting better with their optics and they were already very good

$300 isn't that bad. I think the EO one is also shake awake, but i'm not 100% sure.  I like that feature.  My SIG Romeo5 on our AR's are shake awake and auto off. 

For the battery life, it's hard to tell because when buying new batteries, we don't know how long they've been on the shelf for. I've had my ROMEO5 last over a year, and then only 3 months. Must have gotten a bad battery. But it was a good learning lesson when the RDS died mid skill builder. Had to flip to back ups and finish the exercise.

the battery life probably a marketing thing.  EOtech i think is 25k hour battery life which is plenty.  just change every couple years and you're good
