I've been looking at houses.
A lot are already in the $1M range, and the well used ones are not that much cheaper, & the complete renovation ones are alittle cheaper but to big a project for me.
Now I get why Inspector planned to retire on the big island.
I was looking forward to his arrival and was disappointed that he went to the mainland.
I certainly understand his calculus for the move.
However, in terms of Hawaii real estate it isn't that much cheaper here than elsewhere
in Hawaii.
Hawaii county is the poorest in Hawaii.
But the house prices are well out of reach for most locals.
I know many, many families that are very multi-generational
in the same houses.
That isn't necessarily a bad thing, given the culture of Hawaii.
Having your own home and independence is a white man thing,
so I can't say that Hawaii wants to fix it's home price problem.
I don't think they do, because they sabotage every possibility
of allowing people to be free and independent.
That is all.
