Bushido Arms and Ammo
« on: January 29, 2022, 09:59:44 AM »
They will be selling tasers. "Informational briefing" is 5 mins or so. No extra $200 for a "class". No extra charge for a background check.

He has them in stock and awaiting HPD permit. U can put $ down and kapu a unit so when he does get the permit, u can just pick it up and do whats required by law.

So far the only seller not charging big $ for a class or hours of class time.

Is there an NRA-certified Taser class?  If so, maybe the folks giving the required handgun safety classes could include the Taser training.  If we pay for handgun safety classes, it could also satisfy the Taser "briefing".

That way, if you are buying a handgun or a Taser, you just need to show the combined NRA certified training affidavit.

Anyone with a valid affidavit for handgun training could attend the Taser class and get an updated Handgun &Taser Safety Certificate -- for a reasonable/affordable fee.

I was thinking, if there's no Taser "affidavits" issued, we're going to have to go through the Taser "briefing" for every dealer we choose to buy from.  And, If dealer "A" only does the free 5 minute briefing, and dealer "B" does the $200 class, how can we get the briefing from "A" and avoid the $200 class from "B" without some sort of certificate or affidavit?

Just thinking out loud.

briefing and background check must be done by seller...

Which creates an environment of inconsistent training requirements (and costs) from seller to seller.

Your suppose to get a copy of the signed and dated certification for the briefing after it’s done. Can’t remember the exact wording but it would prove you got “training”.  Hopefully that’s enough proof that you did it once before.

The seller must do the briefing. So an affidavid wouldnt help unless that instructor or their business is selling u the taser too.

So if A does whats right, people should buy from A instead of B. HI people forget that in many other states, 1 can buy a taser off the shelf and check out at a cashier. No checks at all.

The seller has to do the briefing, so they should have records of them giving u the briefing.

How do you know it will work in a real world scenario if you haven't tested it?  Could have purchased one with a manufacturing defect, or it could malfunction due to new user not installing the cartridge correctly.

Also, Glock owners need to learn how to fire a Taser without compensating for that "low-left" thing.  If you don't, you'll be firing the taser into the air, high and to the right!

So we can go ahead and buy one but we cannot test it.........

So....how do we become proficient with it...... ???

I guess we fire it at the attacker and if we miss, throw the gun at him/her and run like hell :shake:

Im just pointing out the law states when 1 can use a taser and testing or training isnt listed.

No one here does anything illegal.

The law states the 3 occasions that 1 can deploy usage of a taser. Testing, training, etc...are not listed or stated as an exemption.  It is a good idea to function test the stun gun portion once a month, but no one here does anything illegal.

You cannot even let someone else hold your taser, possession other than yourself is also illegal. So if a friend ask to check it out, visual only, no touchy touchy. So I joke about it, but still serious, treat it like your boto and if a male friend.  Would you let another male friend touch your boto?

Same/similar verbiage for handgun.  Do you NEVER let someone else shoot your handgun?
