If tank crews are scavenging fuel in order to try and keep up with the other side then you likely have bigger problems than just obsolete tanks.

That means supply lines have been stretched to the breaking point and having to move and store twice as much fuel probably didn’t help much.

So, the tank's tank is on "E"?

In a region with more oil than they can sheik a stick at, I have a feeling it's not that difficult to supply fuel to wherever it's needed.

WTF???!!!  More than HALF???!!!

Why can't the US hold Ukraine accountable for keeping track of the weapons, munitions, and supplies given to them?  Maybe they are the culprit.

It's cause they were never sent. I mean, on paper they were, so invoices can be made and monies "paid".

Monies and weapons changed hands.

The "fog of war" is often used to launder ill-gotten-gains.

Who got the money?

Better yet, who got the weapons?

I recall a similar series of operations publicly labeled The Iran-Contra Affair.

Here's a though, the Abrams that we sent over are now being seen in Ukraine.  This would be a way of testing real/recent battlefield conditions.   These tanks have been tested years ago in the middle east, but not under this new warfare.  Like drones and more tank vs tank or vs anti tank stuff as the Iraqi's, Taliban, etc... had very little (exclude RPG's).

First pic of an Abrams destroyed and Russia claims it was hit with an anti tank round.  The blow out panels were show to be activated (fire coming from there), but no word on if the crew survived or not.

New tank battle doctrine, keep your hatches closed (drone dropping stuff inside).

That's nothing new. . . stuff like that have been "tested" regularly for a long time. . . for obvious reasons not shared widely.

I've had a chance to witness some of those tests when we were on adjacent test ranges for my projects.  Albeit maybe 5-6 years ago, so now "older tech".

It's interesting that even though testing is done, sometimes there is that X factor that is unaccounted for that doesn't' show up in testing.  When he M16 was issued in NAM, all the testing was with ball powder. But the wizkids in DC thought it was a good idea to switch to stick powder cause on paper it made sense. Which lead to all the jamming and the bad rep it got early on.  Or the Garand and in it's final test that the deciding generals would make, the gun jammed like on the 4th round. Some did, some didn't. They figured out that someone in the factory changed the machine specs slightly when making the clips because it's more efficient this way. This lead to the jamming and they were able to fix it in time and get the contract. Luckily, it wasn't like the M16 problem where it cost lives. So the SOP after that was don't change anything unless you have the engineers approval.

It's amazing that the US Bradley fighting vehicles are doing well in Ukraine.  One beat Russia's most advanced main battle tank.

I think that's awesome.

The Bradley is infinitely better in many ways than the old dinosaur M113 I trained in.

I think they are doing better in Ukraine than in A-stan/Iraq because lack of RPG's usage.  In the middle east, they used them much more often due to the urban environment where range is a concern.  Compare this to Ukraine where it's often seen armor in open fields from a distance where accuracy matters much more.

I saw 1 vid of a Russian tank getting lit up by the chain gun on a Bradley. It looks devistating, but I'm sure the crew inside the Russian tank is fine.  The vid doesnt' show the ending. What is seen is the Brandley hitting their smoke grenades. Due to the Russian tank not engaging yet, they haven't spotted the Bradley.  THe vid is short and I would like to know the outcome of this engagement.

Update on the Abrams, the crew survived to fight another day. THe blow out panels did what they are designed to do.

Watch out for propaganda. If it sounds too good to be true it probably is.

As predicted, the US empire's proxy war against Russia and soon China is bringing the World one mistake to WWIII.

Russian warships returning to Cuba is just the beginning.

Mentioning a few months or weeks does not equate to giving an actual date.

Obviously, Russia has decided for more an attrition approach in their war with Ukraine rather than seeking a quick decisive victory than I anticipated.
