This is a big one. It would basically ban tasers in most of the island.

If you wish to be present for the zoom, you must check the circle while submitting testimony about being present in zoom. If not, you can only watch via YouTube. You also don't have to be present. But at least the option is there. We need more people to just be there. If you're afraid of speaking, just say "I stand by my written testimony" when your name is called. We need to show our presence. Last zoom only had about 5 of us.

The reasonable man adapts himself to the world;
the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself.
Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man.

Total B.S. by our legislators. They should have done this incrementally, with home defense on your property allowed first, followed by restrictions in public. We have dozens of people who have been trained for Taser use, and  dozens of Taser Pulse and Strikelight devices in the inventories of local dealers. I spoke to a number of people at a training course and the public is scared of attackers who have more rights than honest non-felon tax-paying citizens in this state. We were supposed to be given the right to use non-lethal electric devices for self-defense, and now our only recourse is adopting a pit bull from the Hawaii Humane Society.

I had the opportunity to shoot a Taser Pulse and its weight and low recoil are ideal for the fairer sex. The device even has a laser to make it easier to aim the projectile at the perp.

Current law allows you to use your taser anywhere for the following conditions:
1) Protection of self or another
2) Protection of ones property
3) Protection of anothers property

So home defense is already allowed by law.  Of course then there's federal law which restricts the taser totally from a secure area of an airport and stuff like that.
