Beijing Olympics
« on: February 10, 2022, 02:07:29 PM »
So besides there being no snow near the ski jump, now the skating ring had an issue. What is more to the story is that there were floods of Chinese social media post blaming the Japan skater and not the ice itself. When the CCP controls the internet there, they can do things like this to save face.

Normally, a hole, dent, chip in the ice does happen and no one really cares too much about it besides the athlete that was affected. But the CCP's train of thought is to save face and stuff like that. So the crummy ski jump scenery and now the top skater blames the ice, they are really trying hard.  Seems like the CCP amplified the issue more than it would have normally been.

For the ski jump, bad weather does happen, as in lack of snow.  But add in all the other issues that the Beijing games are having, it seems a common thing with them.  I wonder if they got hundreds of sweat shop workers using shave ice machines to keep the ice on the ski jump plentiful.

Don't forget the horrible quarantine conditions and poor food, which no one had an issue during the Tokyo games. But it's OK because the media has the CCP's back. Even our own politicians have the CCP's back.  Like how Pelosi stated for the Olympians to not be political there.

Pelosi was worried about them being detained if they spoke out about/against human rights violations in China because the Chinese take that shi+ seriously. They, meaning the athletes, ain’t woke in China.

Ski jumping in Springfield (Simpsons reference)
They need to buy a Zamboni.
Downhill skiing events are almost on ice.
They were like twenty crashes in the one event.
All artificial snow.
2 minute video below of crash after crash after crash…..

People around the world are learning what it's like to live under the CCP rule.

Yet where is all the outrage by people like the pink hats and other groups since a woman is being censored.

People in "pink"hats voted for this kind of thing.  They want it.
Notice most the people in the Olympics look like "white" people
and we all know they are bad.

People in the US who believe in the Leftist ideals embrace Socialism.  Fact are unimportant.  Only when everyone embraces the concepts will Socialism reveal it's true utopia.

Besides, racism only exists between people of different skin tones.  Did you not learn anything from Whoopi last week?   :geekdanc:

I wasn't sure how to take her statement. I took it one way but I then heard an entirely different take on it which also makes sense.

The way I initially heard it was her cautioning that China was not a free country and we should be careful not to run afoul in their country for our own safety. We already do this when the government puts out warnings of countries where there are certain types of dangers to American citizens. This seems reasonable to me.

The other take I heard was one similar to yours, that our own government wants us to not say anything to offend China politically. From this angle I hate her comment, don't tell me who I am allowed to criticize.

I don't know which one Pelosi had in mind when she made her comment. The same exact statement can either be good and reasonable or terrible depending on which angle one chooses to look at it from.

Aside from that I never pay attention to the Olympics and pay even less attention now that it is being held in China. I would have been happy if we had boycotted it but on the other hand I don't think we should punish out olympians who trained for years for this.

You're spending entirely too much time trying to discern what Crazy Nancy is saying.  Even when they say what they mean, the leave a large enough opening to backtrack later.

If you CAN'T find a double meaning in her statements, then THAT would be newsworthy!

Perhaps, she could have been purposefully making a vague statement.

I am just trying to be objective and I was commenting on how statements can be good or bad, right or wrong, from the listeners perspective. Thus I try to give the benefit of the doubt when a clear intent cannot be established.

... and that's exactly what politicians count on.

You, as a voter, can't hold them accountable if they can pretend to have "plausible deniability."

O:  It was never my decision to withdraw troops from Iraq.

Ignore all the videos of him saying, "I promise to end the war in Iraq."

If you want to spend time deciding what a politician told you is fact or fiction, that's your right.  Just know, you're going to save a ton of time and anguish accepting the fact that they lie significantly more than they tell the truth -- and those lies are almost always obscured by enough truth to give themselves an "out" when their feet are held to the fire.

Exercise in futility.

So there's that scandal of the 15 year old Russian skater who was doping.

To be fair, I'm not sure if she knew what she was taking. It was probably given to her by her coach or someone in that circle.  She's in high school of age.

So here's a real life example. Back in 2005 or so, there was a steroid called SUS500 and TREN.  Many guys took it and got all jacked up because they didn't know how to cycle it properly. So you might ask, doesn't most people who know of steroids, know there are risk factors and ways of doing it?  Like 8 weeks on, followed by 3-6 weeks off.  Well when this product came out, GNC was selling it. Many workers didn't know what they were selling.  All they knew was it would give you amazing gainz and muscle size (like how steroids do).  So people would take this for months and months without cycling or PCT (Post Cycle Therapy) properly.  So these guys would have gyno (bitch tits), acne, limp dick, etc...And they had no idea why.  This includes high school kids. "Hey this worker at GNC told me to take it and the gainz are amazing. I'm only 2 week into taking it and it's awesome". Next thing you know, half the football team is taking this. True story BTW, I won't name which schools team.

And it's not like the company who made these 2 products were hiding it either, they were literally called SUS500 and TREN, which was written on the front of the bottle.  And on the back of the bottle was a list of chemical compounds. A group of words you basically cannot pronounce.  Compared this to Gaspari Halodrol, which was spiked with steroids.  The ingredients said 1 thing, but inside was another for Halodrol. Or USP Labs PRIME/Pink Magic.

So this is why I do not fault her.  And to have deniability, she probably was never told what she's taking, or told it was something else since she's so young.  Had she been in her 20's then this excuse wouldn't be able to be used.

I'm not watching the Olympics because it's just a big advertisement for the Chinese Communist Party social control system that our tech giants are trying to force on us

Super hottie American skiing for China got 2 gold and 1 silver.
Won’t say if she renounced her American citizenship since China doesn’t allow dual citizens.
Says when she is in China she’s Chinese. When she’s in America she’s American.
She’s hot, smart and now Rich though. At 18 years old. Estimated already over $31 million. Face of the Games in China.
Born and raised San Fran. Headed to Stanford in the Fall.

Yep.  She's definitely a hottie.  But does the host city design the medals?  I swear those medals look like the top lids of the family size Campbell soup cans.......

Gotta be the ugliest medals so far.

I personally think she should stay in China and not be allowed to return to to the U.S. nor get her citizenship back!

I saw some biathalon coverage last night.
No americans in contention.
I'm guessing no american companies want to sponsor anything that has guns since this has become a nation of wussies.
