....
The attention span of people and dogs is about 7 to 10 minutes during an in-person lecture.
On the internet, maybe 7 to 10 seconds if you're lucky.
A 34 minute internet video of a guy talking into a camera is zzzzz.....
Not effective communication.
What, Me Worry?

Not effective communication.

I watched enough of the "guest" speaking to know he's never attended a Toastmaster's session.  His "uh ... um .... uh ... uh" distractions were too frequent to be an effective speaker.  He drowned out his points so much, it was almost impossible to follow.  Even when the words were well chosen and coherent, the constant "uh ... uh ... uh" made it tough to follow what he was trying to convey.

Groups like toastmasters would assign listeners to count the number of "like ... um ... uh ... you know" fillers speakers used.  Most of the time, the numbers shocked the speakers, because they are totally oblivious they are doing it.  Once you are told of the problem, you become sensitive to it and work toward improving or correcting it completely.

Better to have a silent pause for a second to gather your thoughts than fill the dead space with noise.

Just my observation.  I can't see myself watching the entire video, no matter how important someone else thinks it is.
The reasonable man adapts himself to the world;
the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself.
Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man.

The coverage was not the best professional quality, but the material is very succinct and important to understand why many deem America as being an empire.

In essence, unlike the empires of the past, the current US empire has updated that definition of what constitutes an empire.  Per the video's featured economist Michael Hudson, who is a proud American, the US empire is one that dominates through currency creation/manipulation and making the global rules of finance capitalism.  Although having the greatest military machine the World has ever known, it is the control of currency and finance that serves as the US empire's primary means of global control.  As Hudson further states, the imperial military's main function is not direct confrontation with military peers, but tools of invasion, overthrow, and occupation of lesser countries such as Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Syria, etc. to make them client or vassal states to US imperial financial rule.  Against military peers such as Russia or China, proxy wars, civil/domestic unrest, tariffs, human rights, Olympic boycotts, etc. are the primary weapons to get those nations to acquiesce to American imperial domination.  If those options fail, as it has failed in the case of Russia and China, then goading WWIII is the final option that unfortunately currently appears what the US empire is orchestrating in their vassal state Ukraine against Russia.

Reading it was just a monotonous as watching it being read.

Got anything with illustrations that go along with the words?  Color would be best.
