Even though their leadership sucks, we need the NRA, especially in HI. Because if they got disbanded, then so does everyone NRA instructor credentials. Which means no one can take a handgun safety class to buy a handgun.  That would be until a substitute is allowed, but we all know how long HPD would dick around with that. I mean they're jacked up with tasers cause the FBI won't let them use their background check data base for the sellers licenses. And HPD blames the way the law is written. The AG responded saying that HPD is going beyond what they're supposed to do and making up their own background check system.

IDK how LIFE operates, but I heard you can now take the class online instead of in person. But is their system NRA backed?

And the NRA-ILA does write testimony. Which is more than what some here do, those who don't write testimonies at all.

Letitia James' incompetence has been known for a long time. Have no idea how she even passed the bar, or how many attempts she needed. Graduate of Howard University law school, not Harvard.

Rather strange reply. I'm a fan of Thurgood Marshal. I mourned Dr. King's death. Best friend in junior high was a black man who went on to the Air Force Academy as a NY state resident. What is your opinion on Letitia James?

Anyone who starts listing their black friends to show they aren't racist has already lost the "you're a racist" allegation.

I have no opinion on James, since I don't know her personally, and I don't follow news reports on everyone in other states that hold public office.  I'll defer to those who publicly stated their opinions and who have an unbiased viewpoint backed up by receipts.

I'm looking over the NRA board of directors ballot.  I'm a life member and I vote.
I do not like the go along to get along( and get rich!) people running the NRA,
so I will be much more critical than in the past.  NRA  was never intended to be a Lobbying group.
That is what the NRA-ILA is, some work needs to be done there.
I think the NRA-ILA does OK, and I donate, but GOA is more of a "go for the throat", so they get
more money from me.
I'm also a member of the local HiFICO(sp?) but  I haven't sent much money lately.
Hawaii is kind of a lost case as long as One chairman can kill a proposed bill at their whim
this state government is a waste of our time and money.
May as well have Kuleana's racial Monarchy.
