It's been 12 years now so I can Say I was an engineer at Keck Observatory.
We were doing the Interferometer stuff then.
We were subjected to Hwaiian Kapuna to come in and tell us why we were such
POS and pissing on "their" sacred mountain.
A quarter of the people I worked with were on Hawaiian homelands wait lists.
They despised The modern supposed rulers of Hawaii .
One seminar I attended that really sat with me is,
Haole means "he has no breath", meaning they did not talk the language.
There were no racial overtones!  As modern politicians interject.
I had a rough enough time with Spanish and Mandarin,Hawaiian is like German
with no Grammar structure.
Screw them.
I don't speak the language and I'm not going to bother.

Look how many of the Hawaiian royalty married Haoles and that propelled them to land ownership and power.
Apparently a lot of Hawaiians loved Haoles.

Heck. I went to Waimanalo High School and we all got along. (Except Keolu Hills and Waimanalo but that’s another story.)
I’ve dated Haole, Hapa, Filipino, Hawaiian, Japanese, and married Chinese.
Hawaii is the best. For All.
My brother is Haole his wife is 50% Hawaiian.
