We are not alone.

We will probably never convert Hawaii to a Freedom oriented state.
Too many monarchists and state-ists here, but we can remove funding for certain
laws enforcement.

I got plenty cop friends. (As most people in Honolulu)
I like the cops, as long as they’re not behind me.

Molon Labe though.

Cops are fine with firearms. as long as they and their democrat masters are the only ones with them.

Never trust them, knew the type who joined the polices from my HS class and doubt they have changed much.

I don't see those "HPD: Honolulu's Finest" commercials anymore.

Makes sense.

A classmate of mine joined HPD  couple years after high school.
His asshole level jumped up quite a bit after he was issued a badge and a gun.

I have known a number of cops here. Some I don't think should allowed to be cops but generally I would say most are good/competent

The problem is that the bad ones make the good ones look bad.  I know a cop who refused to enforce Ige/Kirk's mandates.  He would show up to a gathering cause someone called to complain.  Talk story and state he won't enforce it, then leave.  Then because the group didn't disburse, he would come back a few hours later and repeat.

Back in the day, drinking at the park.
Cops would drive past with blue light on when time to leave.
You packed your stuff and left if you knew the signal.
Those who didn’t and stayed, cops would return in about 10 minutes. Then cited.

Most cops I’ve experienced have been pretty cool.
I don’t hang around in Waikiki though.

Long ago when I worked at Foodland I had a co-worker who was a dick.  And a first rate asshole.  He wanted to join HPD but his eyes were bad.

Back then they had those laser eye surgeries where they can improve your eyesight.  Well, asshat went and had the surgery and a short time later he became one of "Honolulu's Finest".

LOL!  Wonder if that fucker is retired now.  Or if he got canned.  Probably retired.  With honors.

When in high school we were at a park and saw the blue light coming.  We ran and thought we got away.  As we were walking a block down, the cop pulled up next to us and he knew we were the ones who ran.  He asked where we are going and said a friends house down the road. He then followed us there by pacing his car with our walking speed.  Well our friends house wasnt just down the block, it was a 20 minute walk.  The entire time panic was setting in and some were thinking to run (keep in mind high school mentality).  Like under your breath so the cop can't hear "guys, I'm gonna run". Then we rely so the cop can't hear "dont do it man".

So we got to our friends house whos a girl and he then said he wanted to see us go inside. So we knocked on the door at 11pm.  Luckily, she was having a sleep over so her friends (all girls) were all there and she let us in.  She was cool cause we didn't explain why, but just said to let us in and she did.  Then the cop drove off.

About an hour later after explaining our story, she drove us to the park so we can get our car.  The beverages we had were placed on top of the roof of the car.  So yes, the cop following us did a dick move by pacing us, but he could have busted us for various violations.  At minimum call our parents for curfew.  But he didn't. So I guess he was cool in that sense.  I'll bet he had a story to tell to his coworkers.
