They are confusing the father with the son, or this is an homage to the father. Imelda, the wife, has a lot in common with my wife. Hawaii has shown its hospitality to both. Via the Ala Moana Shopping Center.

I have a coworker who has family in 1 of the villages that Duarte hit hard for their drug problem. No trial, no warrant, just basically automatic jail or execution for anyone who deals drugs.  I'm sure there are some innocent people, but the overall feedback from that village is positive and that it needed to be done.  They all praise Duarte for doing what he did.  Guess it got so bad that the people are accepting the way it is handled.  Then of course Duarte's one son is 1 of those involved and faced no jail or execution like the rest did.

The love and loyalty for Ferdinand and his wife Imelda is amazing.  Even to this day.

I could say the Philippines was always steeped in corruption which is true but one doesn't have to look far to see the same damn thing here in the good 'ol USA.

One good thing about Filipinos and loyalty.  They got your back no matter what.
