No Fly Zone
« on: June 21, 2022, 07:18:49 PM »
Went to fly may baits out with my DJI Drone seeing how I had a good strike yesterday at this time..
Charged battery's, cut fresh bait, packed cooler, back pack, wired new hooks on poles and humped to fishing spot. Set up and baited poles and ready to rock.

Attached line to Drone to fly them out and WHOA !
Flight "Authorization Zone" pops up and she won't take off ! :grrr:
"Authorization Zone" includes nearby airports and the closest one to me is K-Bay 15 miles away.

Was here 24 hrs ago and no problem.   ???
I would get "nearby aircraft warnings occasionally from the helo's, Ospry and C-130's occasionally but it never stopped me from taking off or flying for the last year +.
Controller connected with drone but would not let me connect to internet which is required to disable "Authorization Zone" if possible.

The other possibility is an initiated "temporary" "Authorization Zone" .
Is biden or obummer checking out PCC or is camal-a here looking for the border ?
Military ?

The TFR I posted starts June 22 local time, so it's likely the systems being updated in advance to make sure the restrictions are working ahead of time.

Then again, since this happened yesterday, the relevant TFR could have been deleted from the website already?

Just guessing.

  Thanks All
Drone flyable this morning.

I'm going with FJ's explanation even though I am 5 min out of  longitude.

Think I'll wait a couple of days before flying over water.
Don't know what would happen if they "tested" again.
