You can be sure HI and the 6 other states will come up with some requirements that will make it extremely difficult to obtain a carry license.

They will do this knowing it is against what SCOTUS ruled and let it drag through the courts again.  Such politicians and judges should be arrested and charged with contempt of court.

That is how Hawaii government and it's supporters have always worked.  Courts aren't for justice, they are a throttle, that is closed to an idle.
I'll be submitting my demand for a concealed permit which is presently legal under Hawaii state law. And I'll be preparing for a police commission
complaint when the a$$wipe police chief rejects my demand.

Young v Hawaii should be decided within days and remanded back down to district court.  HRA's Livingston lawsuit is pending in district court.

The Chiefs could throw their hands up and say screw it and start signing permits today.

But likely is they'll wait for the district courts to conclude their cases and there will be time given to the counties to implement.  But we're expecting to get permits within a year.

I'll bet like how once tasers became legal, HI dicked around for 4 additional months, open carry permits will be much worst.

We have already seen this past legislative session that they wanted 1 to carry a taser when open carrying as well. Luckily, this bill died.

My money is that another lawsuit will have to be filed, like how we had to do on Maui. Then the Maui consul magically states that they would have legalized tasers anyways and the lawsuit is baseless.

"We will work together to limit the risk this decision will create once it is implemented," said New York City Mayor Eric Adams.
"And we cannot allow New York to become the Wild Wild West. That is unacceptable.
We will not allow our city to live in fear that everyone around us is armed, "

I guess that means he thinks most of the rest of the US is the wild west and everybody lives in constant fear.

We still have to defend against permit requirements and restricted places next legislature and we'll have to make a strong showing and start talking to legislators about it.

We also have current restrictions in the permitting system.  Our permits are only good for 1 year, only good in the county issued in, and no reciprocity with other states.

This is what we need to stop next year.

Thanks to corruption and rapidly declining quality of life Democrats are hugely unpopular. Now's a good time to go on offense and convince our family, friends, and coworkers to vote them out of office instead of just waiting for them to pass another bill that we can oppose.

Yeah we have 90,000 fake voters in Honolulu county alone thanks to mail in voting fraud, but that just means more opportunity to expose the fraud.

Time to seize that initiative

I would hope that our legislative bodies read ALL the decision and not cherry pick out of it.

"...That said, because any permitting scheme can be put toward abusive ends, we do not rule out constitutional challenges to shall-issue regimes where, for example, lengthy wait times in processing license applications or exorbitant fees deny ordinary citizens their right to public carry."...

What a pompous ass.

New York is already the Wild West.  What area does he live in?

Criminals and gangs already have guns they CC.

This is from CNN -- that bastion of Conservative, Extreme Right Wing bias:

New York City crime wave continues into 2022
as city rolls out safety plan

Quote
Major crimes in New York City spiked nearly 60% in February compared to the same
month in 2021 -- a large majority occurring in a small swath of the metropolis -- as
Mayor Eric Adams rolled out his plan to combat gun violence and crime in the city.
https://www.cnn.com/2022/03/05/us/new-york-city-crime-wave-2022/index.html

That article proves beyond any doubt that New York gun control is not working.  Doubling down on a failed political stance is not the solution.

The SCOTUS decision was 6-3.

Just like others here eluded to, HI will create confusing and extreme restrictions to obtain a CC license.
Quote
In a concurring opinion joined by Chief Justice John Roberts, Justice Brett Kavanaugh
sought to portray the scope of Thursday’s decision as limited. The ruling will not bar states
from imposing any licensing requirements, Kavanaugh contended. There are 43 states,
he noted, that use licensing schemes that include requirements such as background checks,
firearms training, a check of mental health records, and fingerprinting. Such schemes are
objective, Kavanaugh explained, rather than granting “open-ended discretion to licensing
officials” and requiring “a showing of some special need apart from self-defense.”
https://www.scotusblog.com/2022/06/in-6-3-ruling-court-strikes-down-new-yorks-concealed-carry-law/

I can see the licensing law becoming effective as of 1 Jan 2023, and requirements for applicants will include training from a certified training source -- but it'll take 6 months to develop the criteria and actually have certified trainers available, and applicants will have to pay hundreds of dollars to take the classes and pass the test.  Anything to deter as many as possible from applying.

Mrs Barrels remarked that now more people are going to get shot.

Um..yeah...the BAD GUYS for once

She said she's not going out with me if I carry though. We will see how long that lasts. When the food shortages really hit we might not have a choice.

So, she doesn't trust you to be a responsible, law abiding person who carries in public?  But, she'll go out with you if you're unarmed knowing that complete strangers will be concealed carrying wherever you go?

That does not compute.   :geekdanc:
