All responding officers should immediately be fired, investigated, and thrown into prison with no opportunity for parole or release. This incident was the biggest, most disgusting show of incompetence, poor training, and blatant disregard for human life and innocent children. There is no excuse that can justify anything, including lack of training and fear felt by officers. There is no justification. The Chief of Uvalde police should be held civilly and criminally responsible and negligent for the deaths of all the children and the teacher(s) who were shot and killed. The city officials who oversaw should be held accountable.

If you ever have the feeling you cannot respond appropriately to any situation such as this or such as Indian mall shooting, please do yourself and everyone around you the favor to either disarm yourself and not touch firearms, or train like you’ve never trained before. Train like you are going to war.

Nobody is coming for help. The only responsible response or savior of life is you. Train and keep training. Learn proper tactics. Learn first aid. Learn triage skills. Learn how to use a firearm for defensive reasons. Having a gun will not save you if you have no idea what you’re doing. If you’re a fellow CWP applicant, you better start noting what happened and  is your job to ensure any threat around you is met with appropriate action. If you want to carry but refuse to train (even 1 defensive/ carry course), you do not belong out in the streets with a gun on you.

This shit should never happen again. Do not allow anyone else to allow loss of life whether through action or inaction. Learn from this. When shit like this happens, everyone will look to us when the police fail to act. This should start a fire in your heart and gut and should drive you to want to prevent this ever happening in our state.
