Should be fine since “assault weapon” has no official or legal standing. Guns N Gadgets says he believed it could pass, but he believe it won’t. Says there’s always a chance clearly especially now, but also said implications said current owners would be grandfathered in. I don’t think it will pass the Senate. I really don’t. But make sure you get some good WP cases and be ready to bury those bad bois way out yonder past the Chattahoochie

Based on how far these asshats are willing to go, ignore the Supreme Court, and have immense amounts of disdain for us "little people", it won't be time to bury them, it'll be time to use them if this goes to Bidets desk.

If you think that he wouldn't use the military to go after us, you're wrong. They've been purging the military of patriotic people since Clinton and it went into overdrive with O and now Bidet.

Now I will admit, it will be a little tough to collect them seeing how there are roughly 20 million of them (assault rifles) and about 400 million firearms in the public sector. Plus side for them, in communist states like Hawaii, California, Nueva York with registration, they'll have the cops and Natural Guard just SWAT us. Cons for them, Nevada, Idaho, Texas, etc.... all bets are off. And lots of those folk have no problem putting small holes in big targets.

Nah, nobody is coming onto my property armed to confiscate my legally attained firearms over an unconstitutional, unfounded “law”.  Not happening.

Obama created such a demand for so-called assault weapons after Sandy Hook, you couldn't find one for over a year that wasn't doubled in price ... or more.

Things calmed down and then BOOM!  The Orlando Night Club shooting got him talking about the ban again.  And again, the rifles flew off the shelves.

One reason the demand surges is because the gov't knows there are just too many ARs, AKs and other "assault weapons" in circulation for them to even try to take them away.  So, they grandfather in the existing weapons.  The catch with that is ALL STATES would have to register the existing weapons, so they know what's grandfathered, what's not, and where to go get them if the grandfathered guns are ever banned.

If this passes at the federal level, there won't be another state you can move yourself and/or your weapons to and avoid the registration/turn in.  Not like now when one state passes a ban, and the guns move out of state to live with Uncle Bob and Aunt Sarah.

If the House passes the bill, be prepared to see AR prices rise and supplies drop.  People will be trying to get theirs while they can still be grandfathered.

I don't think the Senate will let it go through, but it's not guaranteed.

The #1 result of these bans with grandfather provisions is to drive demand through the roof, successfully putting even more guns in the hands of the very people the ban is meant to deprive of assault weapons -- We, The People.

Like Colon Noir said many times, "Assault" rifles do not kill as much people as handguns do.  But the reason they are attacking these weapons is because once they succeed, they will use the higher handgun numbers to justify their next action:

Which is to go after the handguns.

They are instilling fear into the ignorant, stoopid sheeple about the evil of these black, metal, rifles.  Put a wooden stock on them and they say it's ok.  That's how stoopid these people are.

After the AWB, then it will be handguns.  Then lever guns.  Then bolt actions.  Shotguns.  Everything.

It's their long range agenda.  Just look at Canada and that f@@gott leader of theirs.

That's where we're headed if we let them.

This November, the elections are very important.  I wouldn't be surprised the tipping point is what happens there.
Sometimes you gotta know when to save your bullets.

Connecticut Gun Owners Fail to Register;
Officials Push “Amnesty”

https://thenewamerican.com/connecticut-gun-owners-fail-to-register-officials-push-amnesty/

Why the Low Turnout for New York’s Assault
Weapons Registry Isn’t a Surprise

Quote
Fewer than 24,000 New York residents have registered their assault-style firearms with
law enforcement since the state’s landmark gun policy bill went into effect in 2013, suggesting
that many gun owners are failing to comply with the legislation, newly released records show.

According to a county-by-county breakdown of gun-ownership statistics published Tuesday by
Albany’s Times Union, only 44,485 assault weapons have been registered by 23,847 gun
owners under the SAFE Act, which was signed by Gov. Andrew Cuomo a month after the 2012
massacre in Newtown, Connecticut. The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), an
industry trade association, estimates that as many as one million New Yorkers own weapons
that fit the law’s criteria.

The SAFE Act, widely considered the strictest set of gun laws in the country, bans the sale and
possession of assault weapons under an expansive definition that includes semiautomatic rifles,
shotguns, and pistols with military-inspired accessories, such as detachable magazines and
protruding pistol grips. Gun owners who already possessed the assault-style weapons when the
legislation was signed in to law were allowed to keep them, but were required to meet an April 2014
registration deadline with the New York State Police.

In a statement on Tuesday, Tom King, president of the New York State Rifle & Pistol Association,
said he was “amused at the pathetically low numbers of New Yorkers who registered their so-called
assault rifles.” He guessed that most of them are law enforcement officials, who are already required
to do so.

The New York numbers echo the problems with assault-style gun registries introduced in other
states. Just over the border in Connecticut, gun owners registered more than 50,000 firearms
classified as assault-style weapons after legislation similar to the SAFE Act was passed in 2013.
A Hartford Courant columnist, citing industry analysts, has written that “the most conservative
estimates place the number of unregistered assault weapons at … perhaps as high as 350,000.”

In 1990, at the end of a yearlong window to register “military-style semiautomatic guns” in California,
only about 7,000 weapons (out of of an estimated 300,000) were registered. According to Guns.com,
California’s assault-weapon registry currently contains 145,253 rifles, pistols, and shotguns —
but as in New York, it is thought there are one million possible “assault weapons” in circulation.
A series of prohibitions — sparked by a 1989 schoolyard massacre in Stockton, California — has
expanded the list of weapons subject to bans or registration, but modifications to circumvent the
regulations have stayed one step ahead.

High-profile mass shootings have made assault weapons a target for lawmakers. But restrictive
policies have galvanized gun-rights advocates, who purchase the weapons in defiance while
pointing to the fact that there’s little proof that regulating assault weapons actually reduces gun
violence. A 2013 report by the National Institute of Justice, the research arm of the Justice
Department, concluded, “Since assault weapons are not a major contributor to U.S. gun homicide
and the existing stock of guns is large, an assault weapon ban is unlikely to have an impact on
gun violence.”

Well it passed out of committee yesterday and Pelosi is pushing for a floor vote next week.
"...Democrats are still shy of the 216 supporters required to steer the bill through the chamber, as a small number in their own caucus remain skeptical about both the legislation and diving further into gun safety just four months before an election. ..."
"...“This is a bill that destroyed the Democrats in ‘94. I guess, do we really have a death wish list as Democrats?” said Rep. Kurt Schrader (D-Ore.)..."
"...Party leaders are still looking to bring a bill led by Rep. David Cicilline (D-R.I.) to the floor as soon as next week — their likely last votes before the House leaves for its lengthy summer recess...."

I think it’s got a 50/50 chance of passing the senate since 17 Republican senators signed on to the most recent gun control bill.
No one is coming, it’s up to us.

Legislation should never be about depriving law abiding citizens of something, but rather taking those things away from criminals.

Nadler screwed the pooch in the Assault Weapons Ban hearing when a Republican North Carolina Rep. Dan Bishop asked,  "Would anyone on the other side dispute that this bill would ban weapons that are in common use in the United States today?"

Nadler's reply:  "“That’s the point of the bill."

“So, to clarify, Mr. Chairman, you’re saying it is the point of the bill to ban weapons that are in common use in the United States today,” the Republican representative pressed.

“Yes,” Nadler clarified. “The problem is that they’re in common use.”

Anyone paying attention the last few years to the gun debate and court rulings understands that the Heller case ruled that banning weapons that are in common use in the US is unconstitutional.

Never correct your opponent when they are destroying their own agenda.

The people who keep electing Nadler must be very proud.

The problem comes that they don't care about the Constitution at all. With the exception of it being in their favor or perceived favor. Lots of political gymnastics to make it all good for them.

If they end up passing this abomination of a law, they really won't care as it will be law until it gets to the Supreme Court and struck down. How long does that take? 2 years, 5 years, 10 years? After seeing what Bidet has done in 18 months, what can they do in 2 years?

They WILL use the military, natural guard and cops to take them. If you think otherwise, you're foolish, naive, or both. Just remember Hurricane Katrina. Now, I do know lots of folks after seeing the Katrina shit will just shoot the military peeps and be damned about it.

So if it does pass, I'd say we all have a big Ahi fishing tournament.

#1 - I highly doubt the Senate will pass this ban.  But, I've been wrong before.

#2 - The case doesn't have to see its way through the courts before an injunction is filed/granted.  Given the exchange I posted about regarding "weapons in common use," all a judge has to do is form the opinion that the complainant will prevail in the case and issue a TRO/injunction against enforcing the law until the case is decided.  That actually just happened in a Denver District Court, where they issued a TRO against enforcing mag limitations until the 9th gets around to revisiting it after the SCOTUS Bruen decision.

#3 - The bill is going to grandfather existing "assault weapons," so, NO, they are not going to use the military to take them.  They understand that trying to take that many guns from almost as many gun owners would be foolish and too large a task for the government.

Unless the Congress passes another bill that repeals the grandfathered status of existing AW's. confiscation isn't happening in the foreseeable future.

Nobody ever said government is smart. Look at the idiots describing and demonstrating gun parts... Since when does a dictatorial type government like California, Hawaii, New Jersey, etc actually care about laws and the people?

Unless the Congress passes another bill that repeals the grandfathered status of existing AW's. confiscation isn't happening in the foreseeable future. See Hawaii's "Ghost Gun" laws and subsequent elimination of grandfathering

Further research shows that while plaintiffs sue the state and win, the State will just pass another law that makes what the courts deemed illegal, legal. See Hawaii in-person registration requirements
