Looking at all the increased costs of living in the USA today , most all due to Democrat party policies,
I don't understand how any modern Democrat party member could possibly get elected.

For a bunch of Liberal, Democrat, Socialist, Leftist people who CONSTANTLY complain about "Old, White Men" screwing everything up, it's still ironic that they (1) elected/assisted in the electoral win through any means necessary to place the Oldest, Whitest Male ever in the White House, and (2) Can't come to grips with what a colossal mistake that was, refusing to criticize him to the degree that his first 2 years in office deserve having been such a resounding failure on all accounts.

The Dems are still running against Trump in the midterms, even though he's no longer in office and hasn't announced for 2024.  It's the only plank in their platform -- "Vote for whoever the party puts forward -- they have to be better than Trump!"
