Why are our local unions so anti 2a?
« on: August 07, 2022, 05:33:00 PM »
Been seeing quite a few attack ads on Tokuda and other candidates about being "pro gun". I can't think of any situation where any of these Democrat creatures were supportive of any Constitutional right. So why are these union backed ads so anti gun? In my small sphere most union members I know own guns - and quite a lot too. Are unions really anti 2A?  ???

The Dems are hurting for campaign issues that distract from the failures of the Biden admin.  instead of borders, immigration, energy, gas prices, inflation, consumer prices, skyrocketing crime and all the other things that are impacting everyday Americans, they look to run on:

Gun Control
Abortion "Rights"
Jan 6 Hysteria
Orange Man Bad
etc.

If you go along with whatever woke garbage the international is brainwashing the local officers with then you will get opportunities to seriously upgrade your career, but if you stand up for your principles then they can stop you from getting work and starve you out. The NLRB is part of the administrative state so they usually look the other way and retaliation would have to be exceptional to get their attention. It's a breeding ground for the corrupt and mediocre, and most members are just trying to keep up with their debt payments so they look the other way.

Having been a member of ILWU here on the Big Island and seeing how the union works and reading their news letters,
the anti-gun explanation is this,  Unions are Democrats through and through.  They are afraid our guns will be turned against them
when the people finally figure out just how much they have been fuked over.
Have you ever considered just how rich we'd all be if it weren't for Democrats taking all our money?
Unions like Government is just a license to steal, that is all.
Soon you will run out of money.  Then what are you going to do?
What are they going to do?

Never read much on the rise of unions in the US, but my impression was it coincided with the rise of Communism internationally.

If so, communists are certainly against the masses being able to resist them.
Unions, being the creation of commies would be down with that all the way.

A lot of unions have anti-communist language in their bylaws specifically to address those concerns, but communism relies on infiltration and subversion, so it looks like they won after all.

There's no doubt of the positive contribution that unions made to the nation by putting a check on the power of the oligarchs

Unfortunately the new communist-leaning oligarchs have captured most of them and turned them into their pet attack dogs

Probably because some in the 2A movement come off as offensive and that causes problems when trying get support on issues. The 2A movement needs a lot of work on positioning.

Support on what issues? Safe gun handling? Are you a union member? I think our local efforts spear headed by HIFICO has gained a LOT of traction in the past few years.

Apparently we don't like losing and would prefer to win, so we don't make very good opponents.

Probably not.

People who only have an agenda can't be reasoned with.  No matter how we try to avoid offending such people, they will still be angry and resistant to change because they don't want to discuss or debate. They only want to make us change our minds and submit to their narrative -- no matter how ludicrous it may be.

But, enough about you.

cool story, bro...

On a national level the 2A movement has problems. Posing with weapons, threating to shoot leaders of the country, threatening to use weapons against the country, supporting NRA corruption, going to your local Walmart like you are ready for war. Positioning weapons as tools of destruction and intimidation rather than a useful tool that should be respected and can be use for sporting and defense. I don't care if it is your right, strapping on all your weapons to go shopping at Walmart is stupid.

It wasn't until recently I have found just how power local trades and labor unions are.  To the point of potentially (or allegedly if you will) telling a billion dollar corporation, with a lot of connections to very high folks in DC, to pretty much eff-off.  We not working with you and you can't force us.  This said corporation, at least from what I've seen, tried the "use the lowly local folks to get info" and I warned them to tread lightly.  Guess they didn't and fast forward to today where they can't get any of the local unions to work with them.

That has nothing at all to do with LOCAL UNIONS.

Are you posting this as a distraction so we don't discuss the actual topic?
