If you allow government to break the law for an "emergency" they will create "emergencies" to break the law.

For some context, the funding is over the course of a decade and much of it is to replace IRS agents projected to retire over the next decade. A sizeable chunk is for new agent positions but only a small amount (about 1,000 IIRC) are going to be armed

IRS Agents Accidentally Discharged Guns More Often than They Intentionally Fired Them

Inspector General found that “Special agents not properly trained in the use of firearms could endanger the public, as well as their fellow special agents, and expose the IRS to possible litigation over injuries or damages”

Maybe these agents are the "different" kind of Special.  Or shall I say the "other" kind of Special.

From the vids released so far, it looks like they're giving clerical people a vest and gun. Almost all look like they've never held a gun before. But 1 guy looked like he knew what he was doing (prob a 2a guy). This is horrible PR as it looks like it was done for PR reasons. The PR guy isn't a shooter and the bright idea fairy came along.

Their budget was 12.6 billion, and all of a sudden they got an $80 billion boost, over half of which is going towards “enforcement”

It’s truly bizarre how you try and make all this stuff seem normal

This looks more like something from Babylon Bee.
Between them sweeping each other, fingers on triggers, poor grips and stances, I'm sure they'll whittle those 87,000 agents down in no time.

Think about the kind of people who would actually consider going to work for IRS enforcement at this point in time. Vax mandates cutting your cognitive ability in half, rapidly deteriorating public order, everyone hates you…

They are self selecting the cruel and the clueless

I gave you the facts around the funding so you could have context. Are you against having more facts?

Nothing I said was to try and make it sound normal or abnormal. It was a neutral comment.

I hope no one thought I was referring to these truly special athletes.  The "special" people I was referring to are the guys and gals who only THINK they are special.  This special group warrants no praise nor notable mention.
