Powder Valley (FYI)
« on: August 11, 2022, 08:04:15 AM »
It was worth a try - they have about 40 of 195 powders in stock.  The most that I have seen in two years.  But, powders are limited to one max for jugs and 2-5 for bottles.

Hi Wirecounter,

I am sorry but our system is unable to combine orders, each order would
would have to ship individually.

Thanks,

Powder Valley

INN!! I’ve been watching this. Seems like powders are getting back in stock. Hopefully anytime now, our LGS will be getting some in stock. But recent price increases (primers  ::) ) locally, tells me that it ain’t going to be cheap for the powders too. So probably our best bet is to get in on this group buy..

That’s the other thing. So PowderValley can ship as much as one wants. I don’t know if they still have limit for each specific powder. But if they do have limit, when they say you can’t combine orders, you can’t have multi purchase or charges of the same kine and send it out in one package. Also if they do have limit, you can order different powders of the limit of each type or brand, but still one order. Cause they have to make one SDS info for the freight forwarders. Now, our problem now is freight forwarders. Very, very limited Frieght forwarders that ship to Hawaii. And the ones that do and PowderValley dealt with before, doesn’t want to return emails, calls, nothing. I talked to a person at the Cali location. All was almost good to go, then dead, no communication. Kinda ify at that point. Im sure others here get connection or know someone in the freight forwarding part. That maybe can chime in.

I don't have connections, but at least one 2a poster might have, at least potential.  Hopefully similar like Kaleo Arms, but with ammo.  Where a bunch of us can order what we can order, then ship to a common point.  That way, we can share the funding burden.  Find someone where we can make it worth their while.

I am waiting for the freight forwarder that my company uses to get back to me.  The most cost effective way to do this "group" buy is have the freight forwarder arrange for pick up from Powder Valley, truck it to Cali, and ship to Hawaii.  Otherwise we will pay for multiple freight/hazmat charges.

I am certain that the freight/hazmat charges have increased like everything else, but PV couldn't tell me what it would be until the order is placed.  FYI, price increase for powders is from 32.87% to 47.64% for the powders I want.

We can circumvent the limits by adding on to each others' orders.

I will post once I hear back from the freight forwarder.

I contacted 2 freight forwarders that’s said they’ll do it. 1 gave a quote, emailed back to them. Then no response back. Called, no answer or answer machine. Aloha Freight and Honolulu Frieght forwarders. I’m in though if you get this going. Thanks..

I'm in as well.  Just maybe need a bit of time for shopping and what I want to come in stock.

I've seen more primers show up on online vendors as well, but with purchase limits.   :(

FYI, Powder Valley has a limit of 60 pounds per order per day.  They also updated their website so you can click an "available" checkbox so you do not need to scroll through 195 powders.  They currently have 48 powders in stock in varying quantities.

I am looking to pick up: W296, VVN320, VV3N37, and HP-38 (all in stock, but only pistol powders)

Rifle powders: IMR4895 & TAC are out of stock.

He returned my call and I sent him an email yesterday.  He responded "Thank you.  Let me review."  Standing by for a follow up from him.

So, I sent a follow up email this morning and got the following response:

"So, looking at the regs, we can move shipments up to 66lbs per. If you can, please provide the dims, weights, pickup location, and SDS sheet so that I can give you an estimate."

Doesn't look it it will be worth it to go directly with a freight forwarder since we won't know the dims or which SDS sheets they need until we order it.  And, they can only ship 66 pounds at a time - 6 pounds more than simply buying it from Powder Valley.

DM me which powders you want that is in stock and let me see what I can put together.  And, I plan to contact PV before pulling the trigger to get a hazmat/freight cost.

This was the last estimate I got when I was inquiring. PV gave me the ship dims and weight for 48# of powders. Then AFF gave a estimate. Though at that time, there was powder limits. And getting different powders to equal 48# was impossible cause of availability. So now powders is showing up more now. And PV lifted the limit.

PV will provide the SDS sheets to the fowarders with the package.
