Sometimes I believe they know.  But I guess there's no money to be made trying to fix society.

I like to hope that one day a true public servant will rise above the stench of Hawaii's swamp and put service and citizens before self.  Then another. And another.

One by one, step by step, they start building the foundation for a better future.

I'm so foolish to think this way.  So childish.  So unrealistic.  So naive.  But still I hope.  I think we all are selfish by nature, and politics brings out this trait the worst of all.

Hawaii's moral foundation is crumbling.  Cracking.  Just like the Rail line.  Fixable, but only if done right in the first place.
