I was in line by 0445 this morning, Jan 2nd.
There were 5 guys in front of me.
Doors opened promptly at 0745 and I was done registering my shotgun by 0830.
I parked downstairs in the garage, which doesn't require money in the meters till 0730. At 0645 I went downstairs, fed the meter some quarters and that covered me till I was finished.
Line was about what folks have already reported.
Looney guy was strange: He started off asking everyone in line to go summon a cop for him. Folks in line told him: "The night watch is right inside; go get them yourself." Finally, an HPD officer came out, then looney guy complained to the officer that he was worried that the cops were trying to kill him!

And that he heard voices talking to him, and it was God.

Apparently God doesn't care about parking meters or tow-away zones because looney guy stuck around, as others have said.
For a data point, the few folks I chatted with agreed that C&C should at least consider allowing firearms registration in Kapolei (isn't that our second city?) if not at all the satellite city halls.
