How's the line at HPD?
« Reply #360 on: December 20, 2012, 06:21:42 AM »
Passed by around 6 am again this morning and saw at least 15 people waiting outside. Looked almost like Best Buy the days leading up to Black Friday! It was cold and rainy out too.

Hope everyone waiting in line gets through quickly.

with a backup battery and probably a tablet too.

*sigh* my long gun permit expired and I haven't renewed because of the line. Not that I'm looking to buy anything but I like having the option.

Just passed by HPD at 12:00 noon. Line ended at about the third pillar from the Diamond Head side of the lobby.

.. and yeah, I hear you, bruddah DuckFat. My long gun permit expired 12/12/12, and I have to pickup my renewal between 12/24 and 12/28. Not looking forward to the wait!!

The permit pickup (already applied for) isn't too bad.  While I was in line the other day, they came out like 3 times asking if anyone was there just picking up permits already applied for.
The Supreme Court has ruled that you, as an individual, have no right to protection by the police. Their only obligation is to protect "society".

If the line keeps up like this they'll get exactly what they want.....
Less people buying firearms.    :(

Not sure about that. Gun owners are kinda like the person who stands in line when a new Target store opens or waits in line for hours at the movie theater to watch Twilight. They hate the line but will do it anyway. I think gun owners are wired the same way when it comes to guns. We probably just bitch about more. ;D

I think most of us stop buying firearms for 2 reasons
1) Limited funds
2) Significant other saying you don't need anymore

I didn't get my permit renewed yet because the lines are long. But I'm also not in the market for another firearm due to one of the previously stated reasons so I don't need it either. Lines don't stop us, just look at the early morning camping that goes on at Kokohead rifle side.

Not enough apparently.  They are still doing nothing about it.  Also, It is not your Right to own a big screen tv.  However, it IS your Right to keep and bear arms. ;D

I am thinking more along the lines of the newly christened gun owner, the ones that do not yet realize the forces that are stacked against them and their Rights.  They may just believe that this may just blow over without having to fight for it. Or those that think this 'is just a hobby' and can careless if the powers come for their stuff.

Now those are two good reasons and #2 can be a show stopper if we want peace on the home front. ;D

Got there at 8:00am. The line went all the way to the steps on the opposite side of the f**kin building. 3 and 1/2 hours from start to end. I hope it's not that bad when I go to register in two weeks...
