I was at HPD from 11:30AM-ish to 2:30PM. While I was in line I noticed a bunch people cutting to the front of the line with their gun cases in hand. Anyone know what that was about? I recognized some couples and some other people from earlier in the morning at OGC doing this.

Could be they were in line earlier, but forgot paperwork or something and the police said to comeback at the front of the line.  That's what happened a few days ago when I was there.

I thought this, too, but I remember seeing a guy who arrived at OGC 30 minutes or more after me and picked up his firearm after me and even arrived at HPD over 30 minutes after me who cut in front of the whole line. Maybe he was an off-duty cop?

I doubt HPD registers at the front like us.

You should have inquired when he came back out.

I've seen my cop friend registering his gun from behind the counter.  All the firearms guys were fondling his new gun in between helping us.

Just park at the Sports Authority lot. It's only a block further away than the Blaisdell and it's free. I parked there yesterday for 3+ hours without a problem.

Not saying it's a bad idea, but SA is more like 2-3 blocks makai of the Blaisdell.  I live right across from the Blaisdell and my lazy arse ain't walking to SA.

I may have to consider walking to HPD the next time I have to go there though.

There open super early.  I used to work in the area and would park there.  If you do decide to park there make sure the security doesn't see you leaving the area/walking away from your car.  A few co workers had their car towed, booted, confronted by security, etc, etc.

wow I would NOT let anyone cut in front of me after I'd been waiting in that long. I can see if they were just bringing the firearm to do a transfer of ownership to the new owner, but not just a straight up cut

They actually had family members waiting in line for them. A wife was waiting in line for her husband right in front of me, and a husband was waiting in line for their wife right behind me. The group of four guys had one lady waiting in line. That was pretty ridiculous. But the other people were really nice and I didn't mind so much.

Sounds kinda like the telephone game.  As the message gets towards the end of the line its a completely different version.  Thanks for clearing that up!!!
I dont think people would be THAT rude. Were all from the 2a community after all.
