I drove by about an hour ago--there were 30-40 people standing outside the door, wrapped around back towards the parking elevator.  Probably a 3-4 hour wait in line.

Sorry forgot to update when I left. Took like 45 minutes total. Now I need to wait for permission before i can pick up my purchase.  Two weeks should pass fast.
When I left line was out the door maybe 15 people outside. Now it seems like everyone finally woke up and headed down. Hopefully lines won't be long when i go back to register

It's ok, I got the mandatory 2 week "cooling off" period. Hopefully everyone registers theirs in the mean time, and I'll see if the seller can meet me at hpd and stand in line as well.

Got there at 3:17 today and they wouldnt let me stand in line. The japanese cop said theyre not taking any more people and some of the people in the back of the line might not get to register

Yup, they've reduced their hours since more people are buying, the complete opposite of what they should be doing.  HPD logic; gun sales increase, reduce hours at firearms section.  They say they're open from 7:45 to 4:30, but its really only until 3.

Yes that's what I thought

I arrived at HPD about 11:20 today.  Line outside was about equal to the number in line inside the office area.  Took me just over an hour and 15 minutes to get inside the doorway.  Completed one pistol permit app and one rifle registration at 3:05.  That's 3 hours and 45 minutes start to finish.  Bad traffic day both coming to town and going back home to boot!  Objectives met:  rifle is now legal, and I pick up my pistol permit on April 1st (April Fool's Day!).  This whole permit process is one big practical joke!

What an unsettling feeling.....

ALL authorities that look over us from the GOVERNMENT to HPD don't wanna accommdate to help or "ALLOW" us to protect ourselves

I know what you're saying, but it has nothing to do with being some "HPD logic".  The same happens at Satellite City Halls, the DMV, Dept. of Health, etc. and if one looks at it rationally...it's really no different that retail stores stopping entry/asking people to head to checkout 15 minutes before posted closing time.

Don't get me wrong, I don't like any of it and strongly believe they should make every effort to serve as many people trying to abide with the law. BUT until they adjust the hours or add other locations to better serve needs? I think it's better they give advance warning to those already waiting rather than have them stand even longer only to find a locked door.
