I heard they’ve held meetings with the consultants and there’s recommendations proposed to the city. At the end of the day the land can only be used as a park.  After talking with more people who knew the history of the lease,  I think it would be astronomical to safely clean and repurpose the area to be something other than a range. 

We need to wait and see. There was a news report and the city claims they want the range opened up asap.  Hopefully 1st quarter 2023.

Can anyone tell the difference between illegal fireworks and gun shots? Sometimes I have difficulty with that.

Maybe the Dems here can get funding from the Omnibus package. I mean s**t, they gonna spend 1.7 trillion dollar tax money on stupid s**t, including gun control.

You mean you aren't thrilled having to donate to gun rights groups in order to fight anti-gun legislation and "rules" which your taxes are also paying for?

I can tell. Ive never had a problem, 100% can tell the difference I will bet anyone 1 million dollars that they can tell the difference 100% of the time too. gun shots always hurt more.

With the range closed maybe there will be both sounds coming out of our skies this NYE.

Most of the sounds from aerial fireworks reminds me of being at Koko Head when they are busy.

I heard similar from a wise (re:older) friend who had been involved with 2a in Hawaii for longer than I’ve been alive. I haven’t been able to find info on my own, but something like the agreement of the lease/use is for shooting. That if the use isn’t that, the property goes back to the Estate that owns the land. So essentially no sense for other than maintain as park for shooting.

In any case, hope things get ironed out soon and we can get back to enjoying KHSC.

You have to be kidding us.  Cops can go practice and shoot wherever they want.
On the BI a ranch lets them use an area.  All us locals know where it is.
You could wipe out most the police force on "Traning day" if so inclined.

Police cannot protect. They merely clean up the mess.
Protection is locking up people proven to be threats.

Yeah, right. ::)  You think that is foremost in your mind when you draw your weapon?  Don't think so.  You're thinking of yourself.  Nobody else.

Don't blame you.  I would do the same thing.  If I was a cop.
