Easy for folks who do have experience and training in a subject to expose the "believers". . .

Shining the light of truth on the "believers" is, as you said, easy.

Getting them to see the light is the really difficult part.

Especially true when there are so many versions of the narrative they can find to validate their beliefs.

No; AG Garland just appointed a special counsel who is going to look into it, among other things.

Would it be fair to say the preliminary investigation and gathering of evidence found zip. So now a special counsel has to look more/deeper?

Sounds a lot like election interference to me.

Quote
Former President Donald Trump will be the subject of a second special counsel
investigation, this one focused on his handling of classified documents found at
his Mar-a-Lago home and “key aspects” of the investigation into his role in the
Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol, Attorney General Merrick Garland said Friday.

“Based on recent developments, including Trump’s announcement that he is a
candidate for president in the next election, and the current president’s intention
to be a candidate in the next election, I have concluded it is in the public interest
to appoint a special counsel,” Garland said at a news conference.
https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/justice-department/attorney-general-merrick-garland-names-special-counsel-justice-depts-t-rcna57920

The riots around the US that saw billions in property damage and over a dozen people murdered were characterized as "Protests" and "mostly peaceful."

A few hours of protesting at the Capitol are characterized as an "Attack" and "Riot."

We have a real honesty deficit in our media.

No, I don’t believe that would be fair.  I believe they found a number of classified documents that weren’t properly secured and no evidence that they had been declassified.  They just hadn’t taken any further action, and now that former President Trump has announced his candidacy, they’ve appointed a special counsel in an effort to provide independence from the DOJ for the investigation, given the obvious political concerns.

It just means they wanted a different prosecutor to file the indictment and prosecute the case. It's a simple case where:

1. Investigators presented evidence to judge that there where stolen Top Secret Government documents at the Ex-presidents house and were granted search warrant.
2. Search warrant was executed and evidence of crime was found in the Ex-Presidents desk drawer among other places.

Document case is a paper case and solid.  Obstruction case investigation continues. If the DOJ was not going to indict there would be no reason to assign a special prosecutor. Ever other person that has had documents labeled TS SCI at there house has gone to prison. It's just a matter of time before the grand jury determines probably cause which will allow the DOJ to create the indictment.

You have no idea what you're talking about.

Trump was not indicted after 2+ years of Russia Collusion investigations, including an independent Counsel.

Hillary had TS/SCI AND HIGHER classified documents on her server, PC and handheld devices, but she never went to prison.

What HAS been discussed at length on this board is that poster has NO idea what the rules, protocols, etc are with classified documents.  Just tries to parrot talking points they've heard online in attempts to show credibility. . .

At least xhe doesn't use big words that I have to google.

Ever watch the Darrell Brooks highlights?  It's actually very comical and related to how xhe post.  Basically, "It makes sense in my head, thus it's true, even when all other evidence shows it's not true."

Not surprisingly, CBS gets it wrong here… There are only three levels of classification, and Top Secret is the highest one.  WITHIN those levels there are various caveats, dissemination controls, and other control measures, like SAPs.  You can have Secret or Confidential information that’s protected by a SAP.

There's a difference between classified information and an individual's clearance level.  True, any SCI or SAP program can and will involve lower-than-TS information, but to access it, you still must possess the highest security clearance needed for that program.

Ordinarily you must be cleared for TS access before you can be cleared for SCI or SAP programs  TS investigations require the same level of investigation as SCI, which is why the label TS/SCI for an individual's security clearance is common.  I honestly never encountered anyone with SCI or SAP access who held a security clearance below TS.

It's complicated, so I don't expect CBS to report more than they did.  What they stated are the same words people who handle clearances use all the time.

This is taken from the IG and IC reports on the Clinton Emails.  The sources are included in the Wiki footnotes if you want to see how the official letters stated the classifications. Since it's in quotes, I expect that to be a direct quote from the IC inspector's letter to Congress.
Quote
The IC inspector general issued another letter to Congress on January 14, 2016.
In this letter he stated that an unnamed intelligence agency had made a sworn
declaration that "several dozen emails [had been] determined by the IC element
to be at the CONFIDENTIAL, SECRET, and TOP SECRET/SAP levels."

Other intelligence officials added that the several dozen were not the two emails
from the previous sample and that the clearance of the IC inspector general
himself had to be upgraded before he could learn about the programs referenced
by the emails.

You’re right that it’s uncommon (very) to find somebody with SCI or SAP access who doesn’t already have a TS clearance, but SCI and SAP are not classification levels, per se.  They are additional control measures to ensure need to know and additional protection for particularly sensitive information.  I know for 99% of people it’s a distinction without a difference, but I interpret rules for a living… so I kinda geek out on stuff like this.  :geekdanc:

I get it.  But expecting the media to get something hyper-accurate like this when even the IG and IC reports use the exact same inaccuracies is unrealistic.

Your wrong. Why do you choose to lie and spread misinformation?

Trump could be charged with obstruction in the Russia case and Bill Barr lied about the report. So there is that.
Hillary did not have any classified MARKED documents or emails on the server. That's why markings is part of the training employees received. Aggregation of unclassified information that while unclassified alone MAY become classified when combined.  Nothing is confirmed.

Now with Trump we have 179 specific classified documents that have been recovered and empty classified document folders for those that are missing.  You'll find out it's a simple case to prosecute.
I used to just believe you are stupid, now I know you are.

Yup.  More parroting from someone who has never handled classified documents.  Yeah, because removal of marking are all that is needed. . . plus contradicting their own statements. . .
