I think the attempt to paint Benghazi as a scandal didn't work well enough cause Petraeus to resign.

Either way it really sucks!  GEN Patraeus was one of the good ones.  He got things done when others failed and on the biggest stage too.  Extramarital affair or not he's real hero.  What a shame!

I hope the truth comes out and all responsible is persecuted to the fullest extent. NO matter how high up this BS goes!

However, I will not be holding my breath in anticipation.

I hate to hear things like this (GEN Petraeus infidelity) but it isn't really surprising.

When powerful military guys fall, it is almost always "zipper trouble".
They don't want money or stuff; but something about the "power" of a fresh conquest becomes irresistible.

I still respect him for everything he did for the Nation and hope he and his family can find a way through these tough times.

I think the simplest explanation is that Petrarus was hoping that Romney would win.

When Obama won, he decided he didn't want to work under him for another 4 years and decided to call it quits.
I think, therefore I am armed.

I think there is more to it...post election, Benghazi, Holder knowledge of investigation
