If you want to have an honest discussion about book banning thats fine but you will have to recognize that democrats are also banning books. Both sides have dirty hands here.

Maybe, probably, but I will still let him respond.

I think he does have a fair criticism in that sometimes our side is censoring or banning things we don't like in conflict with our free speech values so there is a valid point to his post though I suspect he is not starting this topic as a form of introspection.

Are you referring to whataboutism again?  Since nothing is 100%, if even 1 event of censoring happens, then xhe must be correct.  When others here post counter info, we are going with things that happen often enough that makes the statement more true.  Like how antifa is a violent organization.  It's not just 1 dude dressed in a black hoody throwing sucker punches.
