WHAT?!!!

"On the Big Island, the Hawaii Police Department has received 33 License to Carry permit applications with six receiving approval."

Since when? Who? Where and when did they take their proficiency training? I'm calling bullsh*t until I see underlying data (which they won't provide even with a UIPA request).

Some even argued that the proposed rules were not tough enough.

Ilima DeCosta, whose daughter was fatally shot, showed a picture of the young woman at the hearing. “Hawaii is safer because we have had stricter laws regarding concealed carry,” Decosta said.

Did anyone think to ask him if she was shot by a regular citizen, or a criminal.

That's her mother. Her daughter shot herself in a successful suicide attempt. Imagine how much worse it would have been had Hawaii been allowing concealed carry.

That person is a pathological liar. Looks a little like Munchausen by proxy.

I've.talked to her before.  She said her daughter committed suicide with a shot to the back of the head.

Not sure what happened there.  Tragic.

When I first talked to her a couple years ago, she seemed more focused on preventing suicide and thought people could own guns but be safe about it.  She's a lot more erratic now.  Wondering if Mom's Demand Action is using her and screwing with her mind.

Concerns over open carry restrictions in Hawaii

HONOLULU (KHON2) — Four months after the Supreme Court ruling to allow licensed open carry of a firearm, the Honolulu Police Department is working to change the rules. HPD held a public hearing Tuesday giving people a chance to voice their concerns.

Some of HPD’s proposed rules on open carry include a firearm certification program that requires a four-hour lecture session, a written multiple choice exam and a shooting proficiency test.

Applicants must also go through extensive background checks, but those wanting an open carry license are concerned it’s too much.

Hmmm interesting. They said they're outnumbered 20 to 1.  Anyone want to help them out?

Frickin Lee, gives us no mention or credit.  Says NRA flies lobbyists to meet with legislators and organize that 20 to 1.  I feel insulted.

It was a refreshing change to see someone on television that I completely agree with.  ;D
