"I don't know what it takes to purchase a firearm, but I believe there should be more restrictions" (or something like that). . . One common thread I've noticed in these types of videos are the "woke" say they know, but usually have no idea. Not limited to knowledge of firearms.

Give him cred for going out there and increasing awareness, and on them for being open to have the discussion and try shooting. Where after trying for themselves, seems like they warmed to firearm ownership. I have had more than a few good friends' significant others go through similar. Maybe not quite wanting to buy a firearm, but more open to their hushand or BF buying more and shooting more often.
