Watch band resizing

I need to get a watch band resized and don't have the proper sized pin punches.

Can anyone recommend a jeweler on the Leeward side of Oahu? I searched online and see a lot of places in town, but I don't like driving and parking in town.

Last resort would be trying to go to a retail store like Kays or Macys.

What brand watch?

My dad used to go to a jeweler (maybe was watch shop) near Pearlridge Macy's.  Think was right by the crack seed stand.  Dunno if any of that is still there though.

If it's a nicer model watch, they don't always need a punch.  The band may have "adjusting links" on one end only -- normally near the clasp.  Screws might be holding those links in.  You can only remove the links that have screws, not the ones held in by pins, if that's how it's made.

Also, check the clasp.  Some have a few holes for the band's spring-loaded pin to click into.  You can "micro-adjust" the band size by selecting different sets of holes to attach the band to the clasp.

If you're removing links, make sure to put them somewhere you'll never lose them, like a safe or safe deposit box.  One day, you'll need them, and it might be years down the road when finding matching links is almost impossible.

It has tension pins holding the links. I need to punch them out. Also has micro adjustment on the clasp, but my wrists are tiny and need to remove like 4 links on the band.

Already thought about it, but probably one time use. Also would like it done this weekend.

I've always used a push pin to adjust watch bands

I searched online again and went to the jewelry store by Foodland Ewa Beach. Only cost me $10 and took about 5 minutes.

Not if your wife likes to buy watches.

Same thing when I got one of those watchmaker vise kits to open the back of the things to swap batteries.  Paid for itself many times over.

Amazon has a very liberal return policy.

Buy, Try it, Return it.
