The officers that I have talked to all are concerned about the closing of the range. The HPD indoor range is not enough for all of our officers to train, also the difference in drills and situations that can be practiced make the outdoor range a necessity for them.
Just so I am clear, none of this is on HPD officers. This is command staff and quid pro quo politics as usual. The Chief has to do bidding of Legislature. Just look at huge carrot Rhoades and Lee are dangling - allowing PD's to collect money directly from ticket revenue. The MIA City Council will step in to back up CCW restrictions because they would love HPD to get an influx of funds directly from ticket revenue.
This would free up City funds to pay chronies and build more dog parks. The recession is here and property sales and values are falling off a cliff because of high interest rates property values will be stagnant. This means less property tax revenue for the City. Everyone here should take time to read both the StateExecutive Biennium Budget for 2021-2023 and the City Budget for 2023.
Ige is stalling Stadium Development because he was begged to do so by developers......materials costs and interest rates are too high. People will not be able to afford the units. Developers are having a hard time selling current new development inventory. Construction workers will work on current projects, but likely there will be some stagnation and they mightbe laid off when current projects peter out. Residential housing will be first to recover, then the new governor will likely move forward with stadium plan and slow roll it.
If the Japanese visitors do not return soon, we will be screwed. Residents who are retired and or on fixed income should be okay if they are homeowners. Renters might be jammed up.
Politicians wanna keep ignoring the Constitution need to be held accountable on all these other issues.
